The Invisible Wife Turned Savage novel Chapter 6

Block Him

She picked out four sets of appropriate clothing at the mall, along with two pairs of comfortable shoes, spending around 4,000 dollars in total.

Carrying her shopping bags, she felt great.

After her father passed away, she no longer bought expensive clothes.

Even when she accompanied Nathaniel to banquets, the gowns she wore were costly, but none of them belonged to her.

The clothes she wore in private were all very plain.

Nathaniel would occasionally tease her for being unfashionable. He never paid for her clothes, but he did for Isabelle.

She had once heard from Naomi that every year, Nathaniel would order clothes from several internationally renowned fashion brands and have them sent to Isabelle.

If she still harbored any illusions after such blatant favoritism, it would truly be laughable.

As she walked out of the mall, she happened to run into Naomi.

Naomi took off her sunglasses and, seeing the shopping bags in her hands, said disapprovingly, “Estella, Belle is in the hospital because of you, and instead of taking care of her, you’re out shopping? You’re leeching off Nathaniel, yet you have the audacity to act so shamelessly?”

Estella sneered. “Nathaniel knows exactly why she got hurt. I’m not stupid enough to play caretaker for his mistress. And for your information, I paid for everything using my own money.”

“Your own money? You don’t even have a job. Where did the money come from?” Naomi scoffed.

Estella replied logically, “Zelda earns 3,800 dollars a month. I’m your brother’s legal wife, I take care of his meals, his daily needs, and even accompany him through rehabilitation. Should I really be grateful just for receiving some living expenses?”

“You!”

Naomi hadn’t expected Estella to change so much. She used to be a pushover, but now she was so sharp- tongued.

“Aren’t you afraid Nathaniel will leave you?”

Naomi knew that Estella loved Nathaniel the most.

In the past, Nathaniel had been indifferent to Estella, yet she shamelessly clung to him.

“You better apologize to me, or I’ll complain to Nathaniel! He’s already mad at you because of Belle. If I say a few bad things about you, he’ll definitely dump you!”

Estella remained unfazed. “Oh? That would be great. I don’t want him anymore either. Didn’t you know?

We’re getting a divorce.”

If her father were still alive, she would have been a pampered heiress. She would never have tolerated an idiot like Naomi.

For the past three years, life had forced her to bow her head. But now that the marriage was ending, she had nothing to fear.

“Divorce?”

Naomi couldn’t believe that Estella, who loved Nathaniel so much, would want a divorce.

But soon, she figured it out.

“You’re trying to use divorce to force Nathaniel to leave Belle, aren’t you? Let me tell you, it won’t work! Nathaniel loves Belle too much to fall for your tricks! You better not make a scene, or you’ll regret it! Do you really think you’ll find a better man than Nathaniel after the divorce?”

Estella had no hesitation. “Don’t worry. I won’t regret it. If Isabelle wants Nathaniel, I’ll give him to her!”

With that, she straightened her back and walked away proudly.

Naomi watched her leave, so furious that she could barely breathe.

Clenching her teeth, she growled, “Just you wait, Estella! I’m telling Nathaniel! Let’s see how he deals with you!”

At Hartwell Group’s private hospital, Nathaniel stood outside the hospital room, looking at his phone, feeling inexplicably irritated.

Estella actually dared to block me? How dare she! Her temper is getting worse!

Naomi walked down the hallway and, upon seeing Nathaniel, immediately complained, “Nathaniel, you need to control Estella! That woman is getting more and more out of hand. I saw her at the mall today. She bought a bunch of clothes and even spoke rudely to me! She’s wasting your money while you work hard to earn it. Do you think that’s fair?”

“She went shopping?” Nathaniel was surprised.

In his memory, Estella was always frugal. She only wore a few sets of clothes, dull and completely tasteless.

And now, she actually bought new clothes.

Naomi nodded. “Yes! She must have used your card. Hurry up and cancel it before she spends more of your money!”

Hearing that, Nathaniel froze.

Aside from giving her living expenses, he had never given her a credit card.

“Nathaniel, why are you standing there in a daze? You must have given her a supplementary card too,

right? Otherwise, how would she have money to buy clothes?”

Nathaniel had given Naomi a supplementary card with a monthly limit of 140,000 dollars.

For some reason, a sudden sense of guilt toward Estella welled up in Nathaniel’s heart.

“I… I didn’t give her a supplementary card.”

“You didn’t? Did you transfer money to her account directly? How much do you give her every month? Can the bank freeze her account?” Naomi asked anxiously.

That’s Nathaniel’s money, not a single cent should be wasted on that woman!

Nathaniel’s voice grew weaker. “I only give her around 4,000 dollars a month…”

“Around 4,000 dollars?”

Naomi was momentarily stunned.

“Nathaniel, you’re so stingy. 4,000 dollars isn’t even enough for a pair of my shoes.”

Suddenly, Naomi recalled the shopping bags Estella had been carrying. The logos on them didn’t seem to belong to any luxury brand.

At first, she almost pitied Estella. But then, she remembered Estella’s mentally ill mother’s hospital expenses were all covered by Nathaniel!

“Aren’t you the one paying for her mom’s treatment?”

Reminded of this, Nathaniel recalled it too.

Estella’s mother required tens of thousands in medical expenses every month, all paid by him.

He immediately called his assistant. “Cancel the payments for Estella’s mom’s treatment. I want her to beg me on her knees.”

Though the assistant didn’t understand why, she still followed orders.

She made a call to the hospital, then returned to Nathaniel. “The hospital said Mrs. Hartwell’s mother was transferred to a regular ward six months ago. She has been covering the medical expenses herself and hasn’t used your money at all.”

Nathaniel was stunned. “That’s impossible!”

He distinctly remembered signing off on a payment request just a few days ago.
