Chapter 335 Surprise Guess Who’s Back

Sloane burned with anger that Bonnie had gambled with a child’s life to set her up; fortunately, the boy’s mother loved her son enough to speak the truth.

So Sloane decided to turn the trap to her own advantage.

She knew full well that even if Bonnie was taken to the station, nothing would come of it; but being exposed live before millions at least served as a warning, so no one else would fall for her lies.

Lucas stepped up beside her. “When she comes out of the station, I’ll have people pick her up again.”

“Wait.” Sloane pressed one final key. “A long line is needed to catch a big fish.” She turned toward the children’s hospital. “Now, we should go check on Natalia.”

Lucas studied the woman before him, so calm yet always in control, and remembered their first meeting three years ago. She had been just like this then-serene on the surface, but calculating every step ahead.

The only difference was that back then, she had saved lives solely with her skill; now, she was reshaping the very order of the medical world in her own way.

Just then, Lucas received a call. Hanging up, he said to her, “Dr. Bonnie escaped on the way to the station.”

Sloane’s eyes narrowed. “She knows the police wouldn’t touch her, yet she fled halfway. And she always hides behind that mask every time she shows up-is she afraid her real face will give her away?”

Her lips curved into a meaningful smile. “Maybe she’s even an old acquaintance.”

Night fell thick as ink, and the Rivers family’s crumbling old manor looked all the more desolate in the darkness.

Helen was startled awake by frantic knocking. She opened the door with trembling hands to find a veiled woman outside.

“Mom…” The woman’s voice broke as she pulled away the veil, revealing Samantha’s familiar face-except now a jagged scar carved across her right brow.

“Samantha?” Helen dragged her inside at once, tears streaming down her face. “All these years… where have you been? I thought you were-”

Adrian rushed in at the noise. Seeing his long-lost sister, his eyes reddened. “Samantha, you’re finally back!”

Samantha threw herself into her brother’s arms, sobbing, but in the shadows her eyes glinted with venom. It’s all Sloane’s fault. I’ll see her rot in hell…

“Hush!” Helen clapped a hand over her mouth, panic flashing across her face. “Don’t say such things!” She cast a nervous glance toward the window. “That girl has become untouchable now-even the Hawthornes…”
