Chapter 561 You’re With Me

“Can you at least tell me how your Divine Academy got started? And, more importantly, how far I could get if I joined?” Theresa asked, leaning in a little.
The man in the white coat fixed her with a piercing stare. “Your accomplishments will put you above us all,” he said. “Our Divine Academy is in the process of selecting the finest talent to become our ultimate leaders. As for the origins of the Academy… that’s something you’ll only learn once you’ve earned your place as a leader.”
Theresa sat back, her mind racing, trying to piece it together.
If I want to know more, I still have to make it through the selection.
“Alright, but how does the selection work? And when does it start?” Theresa asked.
“The leadership trials kick off in three days. We’ll announce the exact challenges on the day of the competition,” came the reply.
“Fine. I’m in,” she said firmly.
“Then the offshore oil field is yours, free of charge. Your Blazing Sun Alliance really has some serious clout. I hope we can work together more in the future.”
The man in the white coat glanced at Bennie and chatted with him briefly about the current state of the Blazing Sun Alliance. After a few warm words, he mentioned he might visit later, then left the room.
Once they were gone, Bennie stepped forward. “You’re really going to compete in their trials… and aim to lead them?”
“Of course.”
“And what if you don’t get picked? Are you just going to stick around here?”
Theresa didn’t answer immediately. She just looked at him quietly.
“I mean,
what if they’re wary of you and refuse to let you lead?” Bennie pressed.
“Then we dig up everything about them and take this place apart,” Theresa said hesitantly.
Once she had the oil field, she sent troops over. They’d extract oil while keeping a close eye on everything happening there. She would crush them instantly if these people had ties to the Starborn Order or posed any threat.
If, on the other hand, they were just some unusual research group with no real danger, she

could absorb them into her fold. Either way, they couldn’t become a threat.
Kyle shouted, “Theresa, count me in! I’m sticking with you!”
Tyger chimed in right after. “Me too.”

Quentin stayed quiet, just watching from the middle of the crowd.
Theresa gave them a quick look. “Fine, then hold the line at Alliance. Keep an eye on Sage for
me.”
She hated leaving Sage there without her.
Then Quentin’s voice broke in. “What about me?”
Theresa met his eyes. “Of course you’re with me.”
She couldn’t relax, leaving Sage alone in Alliance, and Quentin there worried her just the same. If she could’ve kept him tucked safely in her pocket, she would’ve–but holding him out in the open was never an option.
And the truth was, she had the leverage now. Walking straight into headquarters with real strength behind her, she could bring in whoever she wanted.
Quentin’s expression lit up in a grin the second she said it.
Once Bennie’s group was sent off, Theresa told the guy in the lab coat she was taking one more with her. He didn’t even hesitate before agreeing.
They set up housing for her and Quentin–a two–person dorm. And along with it, Quentin got a new number: 8188.
Theresa caught sight of the number and frowned before she could stop herself.
“What’s wrong, beautiful? My number too perfect for you?”
She snorted. “Idiot.”
Quentin was left speechless.
“Look at mine,” Theresa said, holding up her tag. “I’m 7132. That’s over a thousand numbers apart from yours. But the inner camp’s already been wiped out–there’s no way they’d still be handing out numbers.”
Quentin’s eyes narrowed. “So that means… they’ve got other camps hidden somewhere?”
“Not completely hopeless,” she said with a faint smile, though inside she couldn’t help but
