Time-Limited Love: A Contract Expired, Not Renewed novel Chapter 101

The nurse was so startled that the needle in her hand nearly punched a hole straight through Landon’s vein.

For a fleeting moment, Zinnia almost wished the nurse would just jab Landon hard enough to shut him up for good.

His throat was already raw and hoarse from the fever—how on earth did he still have so much to say?

And as he uttered the words “we got married,” there was this unmistakable, childlike pride in his tone, as if he couldn’t help showing off.

Zinnia shot Landon a strange look but ultimately stayed silent.

“Dr. Quinn, could you hold your husband’s IV bag up a little higher? Otherwise, the blood might flow back,” the nurse said after finishing with the needle, giving Zinnia a quick, knowing wink.

Zinnia made her way to the chair beside Landon, hung up the IV bag, and looked down at him.

“You really shouldn’t be telling everyone about our relationship,” she said, keeping her voice steady.

Landon quirked an eyebrow. “Oh? Are you that embarrassed to have me as your husband?”

It wasn’t embarrassment. If anything, he was too conspicuous.

Zinnia could already picture it: by tomorrow, the whole hospital would know she was married to the CEO of the Ford Group.

And even if Landon’s high-profile status didn’t give them away, that dangerously attractive face of his made it impossible for her to keep a low profile.

“You’re making my life a lot harder,” she admitted plainly.

Landon’s brows knit together. He stared at Zinnia’s frustrated expression, then let out a short, incredulous laugh.

“Seriously, Zinnia? I’m your husband, and you think I’m a problem?”

And just when she’d finally let go of that hopeless wish, Landon had gone and blurted out their relationship to someone, out of the blue.

It was infuriating.

Utterly infuriating.

That was the only thought echoing through Zinnia’s mind.

Her irritation peaked the instant Landon’s face flashed through her memory. She squeezed the paper cup in her hand so hard that the sides crumpled, sending the warm water she’d just poured spilling out and soaking her sleeve.

She snapped back to herself, staring down at her wet cuff as frustration bubbled up uncontrollably.

Taking a deep breath, she grabbed her phone and dialed a number.
