"Thank you, Mr. Ford. Thank you, Dapper."
Dapper just blinked up at her, completely baffled.
Charles, however, gazed at the dog with the sort of doting affection usually reserved for a winning lottery ticket.
Dapper, I’m right here~~~
Zinnia’s place was a long drive from Ford Group headquarters, and rush hour made it worse.
By the time Landon arrived at the office with Dapper in tow, all the employees were already at their desks.
To their shock, the ever-composed, almost otherworldly Mr. Ford strode into the lobby carrying a golden retriever puppy in his arms. For a moment, everyone froze.
What was going on?
Mr. Ford had a dog now?
Was the famously no-nonsense Ford Group about to go all “cute and cuddly”?
Well… admit it, it was a pretty good look.
Big wolf meets little pup.
It took less than half a day for the whole company to learn the puppy’s origin story. Turns out, it was Mrs. Ford’s “little brother.” Since she couldn’t watch him during the day, Mr. Ford had brought the puppy to work to look after him personally.
So, the puppy was Mr. Ford’s brother-in-law. No wonder the boss doted on him so much.
Rumor had it the office was now overflowing with pet supplies.
If you didn’t know better, you’d think Mr. Ford was opening a pet store on company grounds.
“So Mr. Ford and his wife are really that close, huh? He’s even puppy-sitting for her?”
“Mr. Ford never actually said that woman named Jensen was his wife. That shameless imposter just answered to ‘Mrs. Ford’ whenever someone called her that.”
“Don’t remind me. I got totally fooled by her. I was even a fan. If Mr. Ford ever finds out I posted that comment calling Noelle his wife, I’m afraid I’ll lose my job.”
