Time-Limited Love: A Contract Expired, Not Renewed novel Chapter 273

Landon ignored them, silently drowning his sorrows in drink.

Chandler didn’t try to stop him—he just watched as Landon steadily drank himself into oblivion.

He’d brought this all on himself; there was no one else to blame.

If Dapper had stayed with him, maybe there’d still be a chance. But now, even Dapper was out of reach—Zinnia wouldn’t even let him keep the dog. That made things between them seem even more hopeless.

Just then, Connor’s phone started ringing.

“Why’s Noelle calling me at this hour?” Connor muttered, puzzled as he glanced at the screen and saw her name.

He answered, “Hey, Noelle? What’s up?”

“Connor…” Noelle’s voice cracked, stifled by sobs. The sound startled him.

“Noelle, what happened? Wait—Landon’s ignoring you?”

Connor shot a glance at Landon, who was still hunched over his glass, drinking in silence.

He got up and, lowering his voice, stepped into the corner. “Noelle, Landon’s in a bad place right now. Maybe it’s best to give him some space, okay?”

Noelle paused, picking up on something in his tone.

“Connor, is Landon there with you? He’s blocked my number. Please, just put him on—I just want to talk to him for a minute, please?”

Connor scratched his head, sounding surprised. “He blocked you? Seriously? What did you do? Landon’s always been so soft on you—I can’t believe he’d actually block you unless something really happened.”

Noelle’s patience wore thin; her voice was tinged with frustration. “Stop asking so many questions. Just let me talk to Landon.”

Connor glanced back at Landon from the corner and shook his head. “No can do. He blocked you for a reason—he doesn’t want to talk right now. If I hand him the phone, he’ll just take it out on me.”
