Time-Limited Love: A Contract Expired, Not Renewed novel Chapter 276

Zinnia’s cold, resolute voice came through the phone, clear and unyielding.

It landed squarely in Landon’s ears, and the light in his eyes faded completely.

“Zinnia, wait—sister-in—”

Arrow hadn’t even finished before Zinnia hung up.

Looking awkward, Arrow glanced at the two people in the hospital room, then turned his gaze to the man lying in bed, who looked as if he might shatter at any moment.

“Landon, Zinnia might just be in a bad mood from being woken up by my call. She’s not upset with you specifically, and she didn’t mean to avoid coming here.” Arrow tried, feebly, to comfort him.

It didn’t help at all.

Landon looked like he was on the verge of tears.

Arrow stared at Landon’s pale face and the emptiness in his eyes, opening his mouth as if to say more, but no words came out.

“Forget it. Let’s not bother her in the middle of the night.”

Landon lay back, a stabbing pain in his chest so sharp that even the burning in his stomach seemed to fade into the background.

Zinnia, you’re really ruthless.

“Landon…”

“You two should go home.”

He cut them off, voice flat.

“Landon…”

“Alright, we’ll leave you to rest,” Chandler said, heading over to Landon’s bedside. “Don’t act like you’re dying. Zinnia’s not going to pity you.”

Chandler didn’t hold back, twisting the knife: “I saw a video online the other day—this woman was hanging herself at home, and her husband thought she was playing on a swing. You get what I mean?”

As he spoke, Chandler tucked the blanket around Landon, not sparing him a single word: “You’re just like that woman on the swing. Zinnia doesn’t love you. If you end up destroying yourself over this, she’ll just think you’re making a scene.”

“Chandler, enough. Can’t you see Landon’s barely holding it together?”

“Alright, alright, we’re heading out. Try to get some rest.”
