Chapter 152 Amalie

“Markus?” I ask hesitantly at the blood that drips off his fingers. The blood is spattered on his arm, mainly on his hand.

“It’s not mine,” he tells me.

That bit of information does not reassure me, not at all. My face morphs from shock to anger at him. I want information, not secrets.

“It’s Lawrence’s,” he tells us as I am sure he feels my anger.

“Who is Lawrence?” Kira demands.

“He is the former Delta of this pack,” James tells her.

“He was abusing his son and mate,” I growl in anger. I turn my glare towards Markus, I

want answers.

“Later, darling,” he tells me.

I narrow my eyes at him but do not push for now. I will get my answers from him later.

“Cal is on his way here. He wants you both to complete the mating bond if you are willing,” he tells James and Kira.

“Won’t your pack argue against me being the Beta female?” Kira asks.

“That won’t be an issue,” Cal says as he enters the house with Zane, Isaac, and Willow.

“Elders,” James says as he nods his head towards the three. I think he did that so Kira would know why three random people came with my other mate. Kira nods her head

with a wary eye.

“It’s a wonderful month,” Willow says excitedly. “Our Beta has found his mate and our Delta is close to being able to claim his mate.”

“I didn’t know Nick told anyone besides us about his mate?” I ask in confusion as I look

laughs.

“I must say, this new generation is shaping out to be better than most of their predecessors,” Zane smirks.

“I think that it’s easier when we have a model of how not to behave,” James snarks in

“Alright, let’s get this ceremony on the road before someone can object,” Uncle Mike says. “I’m assuming that we don’t want Jonas or Dalton to show up.”

“Correct,” Cal growls. “We haven’t been able to remove them from the Elders Council. I don’t want them interfering.”

“Alright,” Zane says as he steps forward. “Beta James, you are the right hand of the Alphas. Your job is to uphold pack laws in the absence of the Alphas.”

“I understand,” James says.

“You are to stand in if the Alphas are unable to,” Isaac continues. “Leading us if they become injured and the Luna is unable to as well.”

“I understand,” he repeats.

“If you feel that the Alphas have betrayed the pack and have shunned the goddess, it is your job to lead in their place,” Willow says.

“I will,” James swears.

“Kira, you have a tough road ahead of you, although the road behind you has been a struggle,” Uncle Mike starts.

“Kira, you are the Luna’s right hand,” Willow informs her.

“I understand,” Kira speaks up with confidence.

“Your job is to support the Luna as needed,” Isaac says. “You are to assist her in being the heart of the pack.”

“I understand,” she repeats as she nods her head.

“You are to help guide your mate if he should ever falter, lend him your strength, and be

there for him,” Zane tells her.

“I will,” Kira says confidently.

“Alphas, Luna, do you three accept both Kira and James as your Beta couple, your right hands, your next in command?” Uncle Mike asks.

“We do,” the three of us say in unison.

“Then we are proud to announce you both as the Beta couple for the Moonstone Pack,” Willow says excitedly.

James gives a smirk and snags Kira’s waist. He tugs her to him and kisses her. She wraps her arms around his neck and pulls him closer.

“You two may want to get home,” Mark laughs trying to break up the kiss before they start the mating bond.

James does not break the kiss. He just picks up Kira and she wraps her legs around his waist. He walks her out of the house as they continue to make out.

Cal sighs heavily. “I have a feeling that we are going to get reports of indecent behavior,” he grumbles.

I can feel his happiness towards James and Kira though, so I know he is not that upset at the mind links he will be getting later.

“Can you blame them,” I giggle. “If the lust they are feeling is anything like we experienced during ours, I have no doubt that they are not going to get far.”

“James knows better than to have sex on my yard,” Uncle Mike shouts loud enough that he should be heard outside, as long as they are not to far gone.

“Rose is in the house,” I shout a little louder.

There is the sound of clothes tearing. Then I see them, two wolves running towards the forest from the dining room window. The two of them nipping and playing as they run.

“Well, they are going to have fun,” Mark laughs as he watches them run.

“If they are having fun, maybe we should too,” Cal whispers into my ear before he is kissing my neck and his mate mark.

“I think that is our cue to leave,” Willow laughs as she links arms with her mate and the pair leave.

“Have fun,” Zane chuckles as he walks out as well.

“I guess I will take Rose outside for a little bit for fresh air and exercise,” Uncle Mike smirks as he rolls himself from dining room.

I barely register Uncle Mike collecting Rose from her room as Mark comes up behind me and starts to kiss his mate mark. I let out a moan before Cal is snagging my lips with his

own.
