Chapter 40 Amalie

I let out a growl at the sight before. Gretchen is on the ground, holding her wrist to her chest. I can smell blood. My eyes look up from the nurse who has become my grandmother to an unknown male holding my pup. He has her by the back of her shirt. Ther something in his eyes that I am not able to identify. But I don’t care at the moment.

All I care about is the fact that this male has my daughter and she is crying. I let out another growl, this one is deeper as Beren is threatening to push forward and force us to shift.

“Let my daughter go,” I demand. I can hear James make his way towards me.

“I think that I will keep the pup,” he smirks at me.

“Let her go Alpha,” James growls from beside me.

“I will take her back with me. Maybe then the brats you call alphas will back down,” he laughs as he starts to back away from us.

I have no idea who this ‘Alpha‘ is, but I don’t care. He’s threatening to take my daughter as he can smell Calyx and Markus’s scent on her as she has been spending time with them

“Last warning, give me back my daughter,” Beren growls, she is pushing me to shift.

“Stand down,” the Alpha growls back, his alpha command leaking into his words.

I watch James struggle against the command. He wants to attack the intruding Alpha to protect his Luna and her pup.

I have no trouble shaking off the command. I’m pissed now. This Alpha is going to kidnap my daughter and tried to command me to let it happen. Beren and I shift. He is not going to get away with this. I am going to rescue my daughter and then kill the alpha myself.

Beren stands in my place. For the first time ever, she is free to show herself off. She has never had to fight, but she is going to so she can rescue our pup.

The alpha is stunned at us. Momentarily forgetting about Rose, he drops her. She scrambles away from the man stands behind us. I watch her movements to make sure that she is unharmed./

The man takes a step backwards. Beren growls at him and he stops. She takes a step forward, still growling.

I hear James ask Gretchen if she is okay. With the alpha focused on Beren and I, he is able to fight off the command.

Gretchen whispers, “He broke my wrist when I refused to hand over Rose.”

Beren snaps our jaws at the male and take another step forward. We are waiting for him to make a move, something to provoke us into attacking in self defense. Right now, we can only keep him away from us until Markus or Calyx join us. I do not have the authority to kill another alpha, even if he was trying to take my baby.

“The Alphas are on their way,” James, tells me as he helps Gretchen to stand. He puts Gretchen behind himself and moves to put himself between us and the kidnapper.

Beren nods her head in understanding as she doesn’t take her eyes off our prey. We watch the coward take a step back. He’s ready to take off running. Beren lets out a grow that rumbles into the ground.

I have no idea why an alpha is so scared of us, but at the moment, I don’t care. If he is sacred, then he won’t leave.

Alpha Devin Tries to speak, but he is too frightened to form words.

“He was going to take Rosebud,” Beren growls and snaps her jaws in coward’s direction.

Zviad snaps his jaws at the alpha. “You tried to take my pup?” he demanded.

“No, I was just playing.” Devin tried to deny.

“He hurt Grandma Gretchen,” Rose whimpers from behind me,

Zviad turns and looks over Rose and then Gretchen. He turns back and growls some more. Zviad is about to say something when Markus and three others come running through the flowers.

“What happened?” Markus demands. His attention is pulled to Beren. As if in a trace he walks up to us. “Goddess, you are beautiful,” he whispers.

Beren preens under the praise of our mate. She wants to cuddle up next to Zviad but is unable to until we deal with Alpha Devin

“The coward attacked Gretchen to kidnap Rose,” James growls out.

“You did what?” the oldest werewolf demands.

“I wasn’t going to hurt the pup. I didn’t mean to hurt the hag, I just wanted something to force the brats to comply,” Devin states like he has been caught trying to steal a cookie.

I growl at him. He is acting like a petulant child.

“You hurt one of my pack members and threaten my pup for pack lands?” Aziz growl, he is dangerously close to forcing Markus to

shift.

“Alpha Devin Connix, you are hereby striped of your title of Alpha of the Dawn Claw Pack by the authority of the council,” the

oldest growls.

“Seconded,” the other two alphas speak at the same time

“You can’t do that!” Devin shouts.

“You are striped of your pack and will be a rouge from now on. If you come near my family, I will kill you myself,” Zviad orders.

“The council agrees. We will send a representative to Dawn Claw. They will appoint a new alpha or disband the pack,” the second oldest orders.
