Once she 1 on the ground, Rose approaches Aziz slowly. He licks her face and Ense laughs more. Pose then hig Aziz’s front leg. Aziz nudges Rose away from his leg. When she gives him space, he lays down on the ground, She moves back towards him. Rose settles in between his front paws.
Aziz settles his head in het lap. My little three–year–old all but disappears from view, I can her laughing as she
pets Aziz.
“You so good,” she laughs. She wraps her arms around his head and buries her face into his for.
“And you are adorable, little flower,” Aziz chuckles.
Rose then lets go and adjusts her seating. She places her tiny hands on either side of Aziz’s face. “You protect mommy? Rose asks, more like demands, as her tone takes on a serious note.
“We will protect you and your mother,” Aziz assures her. He then licks her face. This action elicits another gizzle from her. “Do you know what a Luna is?” he asks, changing the subject.
“Luna? Mommy is yours and you my daddies,” Rose says, confusion in her tone.
“Yes, your mother is our mate and so that makes her our Luna. She will help us run the pack, kinda like a queen,” Cal tells her as he sits on the grass beside the pair. He slides Rose into his lap. He runs his fingers through her
hair.
“Mommy a queen?” she asks.
“She is our queen,” Aziz answers. “So, that makes you, our princess.”
Rose gasps, “I pwincess?”
“Yes,” Aziz chuckles.
I smile to myself as I stand up from the swing. I turn, hand the plate of cookies to Vickie, and make my way inside. Rose will be safe with my twins. Mike wheels himself inside after me. I make my way to the dining room table. My pink roses are sitting on the table.
“We can throw those away,” Uncle Mike says. He knows that I am staring at the roses.
I sit tiredly at the table. He then rests his hand over my own. It’s comforting, but overwhelming. My own father and mother hated me. How can a man, that is not related to me, but my mates, care so much about me? Family is supposed to love and protect one another. But so far, immediate family has caused so much pain.
My parents and sister hated me and kept me locked up. The twin’s father was hell bent on keeping me locked up. Sam’s father was in on it. Just what in the name of the goddess was going on?

Chapter 71 Amalie
“What do you need sweetheart?” Uncle Mike asks.
“I don’t know,” I confess. “I don’t know.”
“How are you handling being a Luna?” he asks as he wheels himself back towards the kitchen. He comes back to the dining room a few minutes later. Uncle Mike sets a full plate of cookies on the table.
I snag one from the plate and take a bite to gather my thoughts. “I really haven’t done a whole lot. I spent most of these last few weeks unconscious. I caused a rift between Sam and his family. The twins lost their father because of me. I pissed off my mates earlier today,” I start to rant. Once I started, I just could not seem to stop,
“None of that is your fault,” Uncle Mike tells me.
“I’m pretty sure pissing them off was my fault,” I say as I laugh bitterly. “I just wanted…”
“You wanted Beren to experience freedom for the first time. Most wolf’s run right after their first shift. You two were denied that opportunity. Those boys think the world of you. They have waited for you since they turned fifteen. Mathew and the elder’s council has pushed for them to take a chosen mate. They refused every time, even after my brother said that they would be stripped of their title unless they took a chosen mate,” Mike explains. “They knew you were here somewhere, and they waited for you.”
“That doesn’t mean I didn’t piss them off,” I scoff.
“Mates fight all the time. The goddess gives us mates that challenge and push us to be better. They complete us and help us. Where someone is rough around the edges, their mate helps to smooth out their ridges. Where one needs protection, their mate is strong enough to protect them until they can stand on their own or not. Just because opposites attract, does not mean that they will have the perfect relationship. Also, life happens. When I lost the use of my legs, I became depressed. I lashed out at anyone and everyone, especially William. He took the brunt of my anger and hostility. Goddess, knows why he stayed but, he did. He was just as stubborn and refused to give up on me even when I gave up on myself,” he told me. “Life throws curveballs at us, and our mates are supposed to be there for us to help. The un–mated see the pairs and envy mated pairs that show the perfect life. Life is rarely perfect.”
“Still doesn’t mean I didn’t piss them off,” I grumble. I understand where he is coming from. But I feel horrible for making the twins mad.
“Do you know how often I piss off William? You are going to make each other mad, that is a given. What matters is that you learn and grow from this experience. Work on communication. Work on being your own person but also a fated mate to two others,” he tells me with a smile.
