Too Good for You: The Ex-Wife You Lost novel Chapter 106

"Alexis…" Nicola blurted out.

Alexis turned around, looking puzzled.

Nicola looked around, her expression tense. "How's Ms. Quinn? Can I go see her?"

It was thanks to Noelle's help that Nicola had improved so much. Now, with Noelle's life at risk, Nicola was anxious and torn.

Out of everyone in the camp, only she and the culprits knew why Noelle had collapsed. If she exposed their act, maybe Noelle's life could be saved—slim as the chance might be.

Alexis glanced at Nicola, as if she hadn't noticed something was off about Nicola.

"Ms. Quinn's in bad shape," she said flatly. "But if you're that worried, I'll take you to her."

Nicola's breathing grew labored as she followed Alexis out of the training hall. She had made up her mind. If she could save Noelle this time, she would no longer have to stay in the camp under constant threat.

Everything could return to the way it was and move in a better direction.

That thought gave her a spark of courage—until she reached the infirmary door and froze.

Shannon was standing there with the members of Turbolt Racing.

Nicola's heart lurched.

Shannon's eyes swept over her. She might have been silent, yet the pressure was unmistakable.

"What are you doing here?" Alexis asked coldly.

Everyone knew Shannon and Noelle never saw eye to eye.

Shannon smiled. "I heard the captain of Flame Speed Racing suddenly collapsed. Out of concern, I brought my team to check on her. We do have some history with Ms. Quinn, after all."

"Give me a break," Alexis snapped. "We don't need your fake sympathy. Leave!"

Anyone could see that Turbolt Racing hardly showed them any respect. They were simply here to gloat.

Amusement flashed across Shannon's face. "I heard Ms. Quinn's been in the infirmary and still hasn't woken up. Could it be something serious—incurable, maybe?

"If so, she won't be able to compete in the qualifiers or the international races, right?"

"That's none of your business," Alexis replied coolly. "You're the one with a broken leg. Do you really think you'll be able to compete internationally? Your whole team is banned for a year. Seems like you have a short memory. Or have you already forgotten your punishment?"

"Why, you!" Shannon seethed.
