For the subsequent training sessions, Noelle wore the new training gear. She had no idea where Alexis got it from, but the size was just right.
Alexis was scowling when she brought it over as though Noelle owed her a huge sum of money.
As they heard the coach was coming back today, the team members were free to participate in fitness training in the morning.
Noelle had gone for a long run this morning, so she started training her core by doing planks on the ground.
Six years ago, she was the fittest member in the racing team, but now, she could feel her strength waning. Just a few minutes later, her lower back started to collapse under the strain.
At that moment, a hand steadied her waist, and a deep, magnetic voice spoke beside her. "If it's too hard, take a short break."
Noelle's body shivered, and she turned her head to see Hunter's devastatingly handsome face.
Dressed in his own training gear, he flashed a faint smile.
Sprawled on the ground, Noelle looked visibly surprised. "Why are you here?"
She couldn't help but wonder if Jude had summoned him back to the training camp, too.
Before Hunter could reply, a few young voices greeted him, "Coach Haberkorn!"
"Coach Haberkorn, you're finally back! We've missed you so much!"
Noelle froze, her gaze darting between Flame Speed Racing and Hunter. It then hit her. "You're the coach of Flame Speed Racing?"
"Coach Haberkorn, do you know Noelle, the oldest member on our team?"
Hazel noticed the unusual tension between them and deliberately emphasized the word "oldest member".
Noelle and Hunter shared a look.
Noelle said, "No."
Hunter replied, "Yes."
Their completely different answers left everyone dumbfounded.
Hazel's gaze turned more unreadable.
Hunter glanced at Noelle, who shot him a pleading look. Their unspoken understanding told Hunter that Noelle didn't want to reveal that she was Sheila.
He had to explain, "We knew each other, but we're not close."
Glancing at the rest, he continued, "Noelle is Sheila…"
Noelle's throat nearly leaped to her throat.
Hunter said, "She's Sheila's friend."
Everyone at the scene heaved a sigh of relief.
