Too Good for You: The Ex-Wife You Lost novel Chapter 63

When they arrived, Noelle inspected the car Albert planned to modify. It was very close to the model she had designed, needing only a few minor adjustments.

With the task completed, Albert invited her. "There's an event at my hotel today. Do you want to come?"

He leaned close to her ear and whispered, "Your ex-husband and son will be there too."

Hearing that, Noelle decided to go.

It had been quite a while since she had seen Zayne. Although he was ungrateful, he was still her son. As his mother, she felt she ought to check on him. Once she returned to training camp, she wouldn't have much time. She even suspected Albert had arranged things this way on purpose.

"Why are they here?" she asked in confusion.

Albert cleared his throat. "A lot of car dealers are attending the event. I heard your ex-husband is forming a racing team. He plans to make that mistress of his the captain to compete in commercial races. My guess is they are here to seek investors."

Noelle raised her brow but was not surprised. She hadn't expected Clifford to be so devoted to Lola that he would go as far as forming a racing team just for her.

Noelle hadn't changed her clothes. She wore a simple off-shoulder top with flared jeans. Though plain, the outfit highlighted her flawless figure.

She was not skinny or fragile. Instead, her curves were smooth and natural, with every line in the right place.

The event was held on the hotel lawn. Noelle had prepared a gift for Zayne. As soon as she arrived, she saw Clifford talking and laughing with others, but Zayne was nowhere in sight.

Her appearance immediately drew attention. Having just won the league championship and recently gone viral online, anyone who kept up with industry news instantly recognized her.

Knowing her personality, Albert deliberately stayed out of sight to avoid any misunderstanding. If rumors spread about him and Noelle, he knew she would give him a serious beating.

Clifford also noticed Noelle. His eyes flashed with resentment before he quickly looked away.

Ever since he had been thrown out of the signing event at Divine Group, he had hated her.

Noelle had been capable of racing all along. She had such talent, yet she'd kept it hidden from him for six years. Lola had been right. Noelle had always held back and had never truly been honest with him.
