Aveline said, “Alright, let’s have dinner at Granvia Restaurant on Saturday night then.”
She didn’t want the coming over to Parkview Estates. The house belonged to her now, and she didn’t want Lauren and Leona inside, criticizing everything.
When they were decorating, that mother–daughter duo had already meddled a lot. If she hadn’t stood her ground, in- sisting it was her and Xavier’s home, there’s no telling what kind of awful mess they would have turned it into.
Paulina was silent for a moment, then said, “Aveline, since both families are eating together, will your father’s side be
there too?”
Aveline knew her maternal grandparents definitely wouldn’t want to eat at the same table with Jacob and Courtney, and she certainly didn’t want to either.
“Paulina, don’t worry. I’ll talk to Xavier. There’s no way I’m letting Jacob and Courtney show up.”
Hearing this, Paulina was truly relieved.
Seeing Jacob and Courtney would definitely make her feel upset and hateful, but Collin had high blood pressure, and she was afraid the anger would harm his health.
She said, “That’s good. Once the time and place are set, Collin and I will be there on time.”
“I’ll drive over to pick you both up on Saturday.”
After they agreed, Aveline hung up.
Seeing Julian glance at her, she quickly said, “Julian, what’s wrong?
Keep your eyes on the road, don’t look at me.”
Julian felt a bit embarrassed, hummed a couple of times, and then said, “You’re getting a divorce, and your maternal grandparents don’t know?
Why are you still having dinner with the?”
Aveline said calmly, “My grandfather has high blood pressure. I’m not telling them for now. It’s not too late to tell them after the paperwork is done.”
“Rupert insisted on treating my maternal grandparents to a meal. I couldn’t say no.”
She was wondering how to make it clear to Xavier that Jacob and Courtney absolutely could not attend this dinner. Should she call him, or text him?
Aveline hadn’t made a decision yet. When they arrived at Crestmark Plaza, she and Julian got out of the car and

Sebastian wasn’t in Entora. They were received by Jessica and the project director. The project director, Carl Evans, looked at the design proposal and was very satisfied, praising it endlessly. He even said Mr. Harmon had a good eye for picking Aveline.
They discussed the design proposal for a while, and by the time they finished, it was almost lunchtime. Jessica and Carl invited Aveline and Julian to cat.
The four of them drove to a Southern River–style Cuisine restaurant on a commercial street that had only been open for a few months. Business was booming. Jessica had been here before with Sebastian for a business dinner and said the food was very authentic.
As the four of them got out of the car to enter the restaurant, they ran into Xavier and Josephine. With them were Ger- ald, Vincent Sutton, Eileen Sutton, and Leona.
Aveline gave them a cold glance and had no intention of greeting them, but Jessica and Carl had to go over and say hello.
“Mr. Beltran, Mr. Henderson.”
Xavier glanced coolly at Aveline, then nodded at Jessica and Carl. “Mr. Evans.”
As a top executive at Crestmark, Carl was naturally acquainted with Xavier and thought that since they’d run into each other, maybe they should all eat together.
He didn’t know about the relationship between Xavier and Aveline, so he started to introduce them. Xavier just smiled faintly.
“We know each other.”
