Chapter 187
“If there’s real trouble, I’ll ask Xav to put together a legal team for you. Any team he assembles will be the best in the business. It’s impossible to lose this case.”
Eileen looked at Josephine meaningfully. “I hope so.”
Josephine understood the meaning behind Eileen’s look. It was a warning: if she went down, she wouldn’t let Josephine get away with it.
Josephine also gave Eileen a warning look, then she took out her phone and said to Gerald:
“Take a look at this. Should I let my darling know?”
Gerald looked at the phone screen. It was a photo of Aveline and Sebastian together, both in sportswear, jogging on Oceanfront Boulevard.
Gerald laughed, “Send it. Why not? As Xavier’s best friend, how can I not let him know his wife is getting cozy with another man behind his back.”
“Send me the photo.”
Josephine immediately sent the photo to Gerald.
Gerald also immediately sent it to Xavier.
Josephine and Eileen got out of Gerald’s car and went back into the building.
“Cousin, you’re in luck. The media just happened to release a photo of Aveline and Sebastian. Gerald sent the photo to Xav, and I’ll hire some paid online trolls to spin a story and hype it up. Xav will definitely be unhappy with Ave- line and find a way to help you.”
“Rupert was still planning to officially announce Aveline as his granddaughter–in–law at the birthday banquet. Hah, once this gossip hits the trending topics and the whole city knows Aveline is Sebastian’s secret girlfriend, let’s see if the old man still has the face to announce it.”
Xavier returned to the hospital room door and saw it was closed. His dark, deep eyes narrowed. He hesitated for a moment, then reached out and turned the doorknob.
It was locked.
Xavier chuckled, “Aveline, you’re something else.”
He glanced at his watch. Helena should be arriving with food soon, so he walked over to a bench in the hallway and
sat down.
He took out his phone and called Aveline, but she quickly hung up.

Chapter 187
A corner of Xavier’s mouth lifted. He sent a text, “Aveline, are you having fun?”
Aveline didn’t reply.

His special assistant, Claude Steele, called. “Mr. Beltran, a media outlet posted a photo online of Ms. Sutton and Mr. Harmon jogging together on Oceanfront Boulevard.”
Xavier’s eyes narrowed. “Which Ms. Sutton?”
Claude: “Uh, Aveline.”
Xavier said flatly, “She’s my wife now.”
Claude paused. “Yes, Mr. Beltran. It slipped my mind.”
He had momentarily forgotten that Xavier was a stickler for rules, because Rupert was a stickler for rules.
Xavier asked, “What did the report say?”
Claude replied, “The report implies she’s Mr. Harmon’s secret girlfriend. It says they often jog together on Oceanfront Boulevard and then go to a nearby seafood restaurant for breakfast.
The media contacted Crestmark to ask about their relationship, but Mr. Harmon’s assistant said they have no comment on his private life.”
Xavier said coolly, “Take care of it. Send me the photo and the report.”
“Mr. Beltran, taking it down might not do any good. It’s news about the love life of Crestmark’s chairman, it’s spread- ing fast.”
Xavier said coldly, “Take care of it.”
“Yes, Mr. Beltran.”
Then Claude sent the photo and the report.
