Xavier’s expression turned even colder. “The doctor allowed her to be discharged?”

“She insisted on leaving, so the doctor couldn’t do anything. She’s already gone to the construction site for work.”

“She should be back from the site by now, right?”

“Sir, I saw her come back with her colleague and Laura, but she told me not to follow her, so I don’t know where she is now.”

Xavier hung up.

He called the hotel manager. “Find out where Aveline is having lunch.”

The manager replied, “Mr. Beltran, Ms. Sutton and Mr. Harmon from Crestmark are dining in a private dining room in the traditional restaurant.”

Hearing this, Xavier laughed, a cold laugh, and hung up the phone.

Then he found Sebastian’s number and called him.

Then he handed the phone to Aveline. “Mr Beltran wants you to take the phone.”

Fiona reacted the fastest, cursing, “Damn it, Xavier, you’ve got some nerve.”

“Aveline, don’t take it. Just ignore him.”

Aveline looked at Sebastian’s calm expression, felt awkward, but took the phone anyway.

“Sorry, I’ll take this outside.”

Xavier was going too far. She had to make things clear with him, or who knows what other tricks he’d pull to embar- rass her further in front of Sebastian.

Even though Sebastian was approachable, he was still the boss of the project she was handling. With her personal matters involving him, she had no idea what he must be thinking.

Aveline walked out of the private dining room and said coldly, “Xavier, you’ve really got some nerve. How did you come up with this brilliant move?”

Xavier said flatly, “You suddenly left the hospital and wouldn’t answer my calls. I was worried about you, so of course, I had to call your boss.”

“You know Sebastian is my boss, and you still called him to embarrass me?”

“How is it embarrassing? Aren’t you the one calling him ‘bro‘ so affectionately?”

Aveline retorted sarcastically, “I call him ‘bro,‘ not ‘darling.‘ What’s the problem?”
