Chapter 204
“Do you think Courtney can bring herself to say it was because she’s Jacob’s other woman and even had an illegiti- mate daughter with him, so I held a grudge and threw milk on her?”
“Can Courtney admit in court that she’s a shameless other woman?”
The more Aveline spoke, the angrier she got, her eyes icy as she stared at Josephine.
Josephine glared back at her but was speechless.
Aveline snorted. The elevator doors happened to open, and she walked out.
Unexpectedly, Josephine followed her out, trailing behind Aveline.
“Aveline, you’re so malicious. How could you use a five–year–old child? Lily was so good to you, and you actually bad–mouthed me to her.”
Aveline swiped her room key, ignoring Josephine.
The door opened, and she walked in. Suddenly, she heard Josephine say from behind her:
“Is that what your dead mother taught you? To talk bad about people behind their backs.”
Aveline stopped, turned, and looked at Josephine outside the door, her face expressionless.
Josephine provoked her, “What, you think your mom had no manners too, so you have nothing to say?”
Aveline beckoned to her.
Josephine snorted. “Fine, I’ll come in. You think I’m afraid of you?”
With that, Josephine walked in.
Aveline raised her hand and slapped Josephine across the face. The “smack” was incredibly satisfying.
But to Josephine, it was jarring. She was completely stunned.
Aveline pushed Josephine out of the room with both hands, then slammed the door shut.
Josephine stumbled and fell to the floor with a cry.
She scrambled up angrily, lunged at the door, and grabbed the handle, trying to open
Of course, it wouldn’t open.
So she pounded on the door. “Aveline, open up! You bitch, how dare you hit me! I’m going to sue you for assault.”

Chapter 204
Inside the room, Aveline took off her coat, a sneer playing on her lips.
Valentina embarrassed Josephine in front of Xavier, so Josephine got furious and waited outside to provoke her.
Josephine probably thought she wouldn’t dare to get physical, that they’d just argue at most.

Heh, she’d been so respectable for the past two or three years that it gave Josephine the wrong impression, making her think she wouldn’t fight back.
If she hadn’t been worried about giving Josephine internal injuries, she really would have kicked her out hard.
Sue her for assault?
How could she sue without any proof?
Aveline went to the bathroom and took a shower. When she came out, she didn’t hear Josephine knocking or shouting anymore; she must have left.
Aveline did her skincare routine and dried her hair. Just as she finished, her phone on the bed started to ring.
She glanced at it. It was Xavier. Josephine must have gone crying to him, and now Xavier was calling to get “justice” for her.
Aveline didn’t answer and went to bed..
The ringing stopped, followed immediately by a text message.
Aveline was curious what Xavier could possibly say. She looked: [Josephine said you slapped her and pushed her down. What happened?]
Aveline put down her phone, not wanting to reply.
But as she lay there staring at the ceiling, she thought for a moment, then sat up, grabbed her phone, and replied:
[She must be having nightmares from doing too many shady things.]
[If you feel so bad for her, you should tell her to see a psychiatrist, before she drops dead in her sleep one day.]
Xavier was sitting on the sofa in the living room of his presidential suite. When Aveline didn’t answer his call, he as- sumed she wouldn’t reply to his text either, as usual.
He didn’t expect a reply. When he saw the content, Xavier’s dark eyes narrowed. He stared at it for a long moment, and then he smiled.
