Aveline gave her a cold stare and said nothing.

The female officer said, “Alright then, let’s head to the station to file the report.”

Then she instructed the male officer to go with the manager to retrieve the security footage.

Aveline ignored the looks from Xavier, Jacob, and Josephine and shut the door.

She knew that once the police saw the security footage, they’d probably decide not to file a case. If Josephine still wanted to sue, she’d have to get a lawyer and do it herself.

Back in bed, Aveline went to sleep without a worry.

Aveline woke up at six–thirty the next morning. After getting ready, she grabbed her purse and headed out.

The hotel started serving breakfast at seven, so Aveline went to the buffet restaurant, planning to eat before driving back to the city.

As she was eating, a tall figure came and stood by her table.

Aveline looked up to see Xavier, dressed in a black long–sleeved T–shirt and gray casual pants, his dark eyes deep as he looked down at her.

His thick black hair was fluffy, and the faint scent of shampoo and body wash told her he had just come back from a run, showered, and then came down for breakfast.

He might have also come down specifically to intercept her.

Aveline didn’t ask about Valentina, because Xavier would never leave Valentina alone in the room, and Helena was probably with her.

She lowered her head and went back to eating.

Xavier sat down across from her without a word.

Aveline picked up a potsticker and ate it.

“Then help her get washed up and bring her down to the first–floor buffet for breakfast.”

Xavier laughed too. “She wouldn’t put on such a clumsy act, would she? The cameras can’t see inside the room any- way.”

Aveline took a sip of milk, looking at Xavier with a mocking gaze. “Go ahead, get her a dream team of lawyers. Maybe those elite attorneys will advise her not to fight a losing battle, only to end up embarrassing herself in court.”

“She wants to be a famous director, you know. Her mom is the other woman, she’s an illegitimate daughter… if this scandal hits the trending topics, what ever will she do.”
