As Vincent said this, he reached for Aveline’s arm again.
Aveline hadn’t expected him to keep going. When she felt his hand grab her arm, she quickly yanked it away.
Vincent lost his grip as Aveline pulled away, but a sharp pain shot through her arm.
Her skin was delicate, and Vincent’s hand had left bloody scratches on her arm.
Fiona gasped, “Oh my god, Aveline, you’re bleeding!”
“Damn it, Vincent, you actually laid a hand on her.”
Furious, Fiona lunged forward and tried to kick Vincent.
But Vincent was quick to react and dodged it, making Fiona kick nothing but air.
Aveline knew a woman’s strength was no match for a man’s and quickly said, “Fiona, don’t fight him. Let’s call the police.”
As she spoke, she reached into her purse for her phone.
Just then, Josie came over, her face dark, and raised her hand to slap Aveline.
Aveline caught her movement in her peripheral vision. She reacted instantly, swatting Josie’s hand away with her oth- er hand and warning coldly,
“We’re not in some room, this is a parking garage. The cameras will catch everything. Are you sure you want to hit me here?”
It took a moment for Josie to realize. She froze, then glared at Aveline, her eyes full of resentment. Vincent snorted. “Josie, I’ll hit her for you. The worst that can happen is I get detained for a few days.”
Fiona quickly yelled, “Security! Security! Hurry, someone’s getting hit!”
Vincent stopped in his tracks and turned to look.
He didn’t see any security guards, but a few customers coming out of the restaurant were looking their way.
Seizing the opportunity, Aveline grabbed Fiona’s hand and ran towards the restaurant.
Once they were inside the restaurant, Josie and her group obviously wouldn’t dare follow them to cause more trouble.
Aveline quickly dialed 911.

“Should we call Josie over?”
Xavier took a sip of his drink and said flatly, “Don’t bother.”
Gerald was taken aback. “What’s wrong?

She said she’s taking Benjamin and Vincent out for Southern River–style Cuisine tonight. Said something about Ben- jamin helping her out, so she wanted to thank him.”
“Heh, I asked her why she’d go to Benjamin for help instead of you, the CEO of the, but she wouldn’t say why.
Maybe she didn’t want to bother you. We should call her over, you can ask her.”
With that, Gerald picked up his phone to call Josie.
Xavier frowned slightly. “It’s just the two of us drinking tonight.
I want to talk to you about the agreement.”
Just then, Xavier’s phone on the coffee table started ringing.
Gerald glanced at it first and laughed, “Ha it’s Josie.
Quick, answer it. Tell her to come over.”
Xavier picked up his phone and answered, “Hello?”
Josephine’s choked voice came through, “Xav, my sister is pressing charges against Vin, and now the police are going to detain him. What do I do?”
Xavier was stunned. “What happened now?
What is Aveline accusing Vincent of? For the police to detain him, does that mean he actually did something wrong?”
“We’re at the local police precinct now. Can you get Gerald to come over? Gerald alone might not be enough, bring a few more lawyers.”
