Chapter 251
Xavier was indifferent. “That’s none of my business. He’s the lawyer, doesn’t he know what to do?”
Claude understood Xavier’s attitude, so he went out and relayed the exact words to Gerald.
Gerald said, “Didn’t he say he would try to talk to Aveline?”
Claude chuckled. “Mr. Beltran is about to divorce Aveline. Do you think she’ll listen if he tries to persuade her?”
That reminded Gerald, so he hung up, walked out of his office, and went to Fiona’s office.
Without asking the secretary to announce him or even knocking, Gerald opened the door and walked right in.
Fiona was discussing a case with Katie. Seeing him, she snapped, “Gerald, do you have any manners?”
Gerald sneered, hands on his hips, and said, “Are you getting angry because you’re embarrassed?”
“Didn’t you say yesterday that Aveline was going to file for divorce?”
“So why did she only sue Eileen?
Hmph, I guess she can’t bear to get a divorce after all.
Always making a fuss but never daring to file. How pathetic.”
Fiona slammed the pen in her hand on the desk: “Gerald, you should go ask Xavier why Aveline hasn’t filed.”
“It’s because he begged Aveline to wait until after his grandfather’s birthday banquet. Aveline and her maternal grand- parents are decent, kind people.”
“Aveline didn’t sign that ten–billion–dollar property settlement agreement. Xavier should get on his knees and thank
her.”
“Now get the hell out.”
Gerald snorted dismissively. “Like anyone would believe your bullshit.”
With that, he turned and left.
After he left, Katie leaned closer to Fiona and said, “Fiona, it would’ve been great if Aveline had signed that property settlement agreement.‘
Fiona said in a tone of frustration, “Tell me about it.”
Aveline was in the site office discussing blueprints with an engineer when a commotion erupted outside. It sounded like trespassers had entered the construction site and security was trying to remove them.

Chapter 251
Then, Aveline heard Devin’s voice, “I’m Aveline’s uncle! I’m here to see her, tell her to come out!”
And Eileen’s voice too.
Aveline frowned.
Jasmine exclaimed, “Oh my god, they came all the way here.”
Julian said seriously, “Aveline, you stay here. I’ll go out and get rid of them.”
Aveline quickly told him, “Don’t get into a fight with them. Just let the security guards handle it.”

This is a project site. If a scene was caused because of her personal matters, it would be hard for her to explain to Crestmark.
Julian nodded. “I know.”
He went out to tell the security guards to remove them, and Devin and Eileen started yelling insults, saying things like Aveline was disloyal, selfish, greedy for her father’s assets, a pathological liar, and other degrading things.
From the sounds of it, it seemed like Devin had started fighting with the security guards, and Eileen was even shout- ing that a guard was molesting her.
She hurried outside.
She saw two security guards trying to drag Devin away as he clung to a car’s side mirror, struggling with them. Mean- while, Eileen was already on the ground, pointing at a guard in front of her and accusing him of molesting her.
Aveline shouted angrily, “If you don’t leave, I’m calling the police!”
Seeing Aveline come out, the security guard let go and stopped holding Devin.
Devin immediately rushed toward Aveline, “You have the nerve to show your face? How dare you sue your paternal cousin? I’m going to teach you a lesson for your dad.”
Julian quickly got in front of Aveline.
Aveline saw a broom by the door, picked it up, and said, “Julian, move.”
Julian wouldn’t budge. “Aveline, go inside and call the police. I’ll handle this with the guards.”
