Gerald told her, “He’s a deputy chief neurosurgeon in Entora. His family is in politics.”

So the two of them got up and went to the buffet table for more food.

Fiona watched Aveline’s retreating back. “As long as she still has an appetite, that’s good.”

Jasmine replied, “Aveline is dead set on the divorce. She stopped caring about Xavier a long time

ago.”

Fiona nodded, “That’s good.”

The door to the study was open, and Leona went in with Josephine and Gerald.

Xavier and Kyle were admiring a painting on the wall. When they saw the three of them come in, they looked over impassively and didn’t say a word.

Leona could often never tell what her brother was thinking, because his expression was always so cool and distant

But she was sure that Xavier wanted to see Josephine.
