As she spoke, Courtney picked up her phone and showed Josephine a villa community in Mount Ardwood.
Josephine replied to her mom, “It’s definitely nice, but Xav doesn’t have a house in Mount Ardwood.”
Courtney smiled. “I mean, you should get him to buy you a villa in Mount Ardwood. It’s brand new.”
Josephine was shocked. “Mom, this villa must cost hundreds of millions. Would Xav really buy it for me?”
“Just tell him it’s for the plot, that you need to film in Mount Ardwood and require a villa like this. Ask if he can buy it and then lend it to your film crew.”
“If he really cares, he’ll put it in your name.”
Josephine’s heart pounded. She couldn’t imagine Xavier spending hundreds of millions to buy her a villa.
Courtney could see her daughter’s complicated feelings and smiled. “If he’s really willing to spend that much money to buy you a villa, it proves that he’s not just being good to you because you’re his savior, but also because he gen- uinely likes you.”
“He might even love you.”
“Once you get a villa like this, you can just relax and wait for him to divorce Aveline. You won’t have to test him anymore.”
Josephine asked worriedly, “But what if Xav buys it, but doesn’t put it in my name and just lends it to me for the movie?”
Courtney lightly poked Josephine’s forehead. “Why don’t you know how to be a little cunning?”
“You can have Gerald hint to him that he should buy it and put it in your name.”
It dawned on Josephine. She smiled and nodded, “Mom, I get it now.”
“Now you can go to sleep without worrying, right?”
Josephine nodded, smiling as she left her mom’s bedroom and went back to her own.
The next morning, Aveline got up, washed, changed into her workout clothes, and came out of her bedroom.
Old folks are always early risers. When Aveline got to the first floor, she saw her grandparents were already in the yard stretching.
“Good morning, Grandpa
Grandma.”
”
Paulina replied, “Morning, Aveline. Why not sleep in a little?”

Chapter 365
“I’m going for a run.”
Collin said, “Xavier went out for a run just a few minutes ago.”
Aveline grumbled to herself. Why isn’t that guy gone yet? Is he going to hang around here all weekend?
She did some warm–ups in the yard, then left the house and ran toward the neighborhood’s landscaped garden.
As soon as she entered the landscaped garden, she saw Xavier.
He was wearing short, loose workout clothes, showing off his great body–lean and tall like a model, but strong like an athlete.
Aveline ran far behind Xavier, which would keep him from seeing her.
As she kept running, Xavier disappeared from sight, and Aveline guessed he must have gone back.
After running for almost an hour, Aveline ran out of the landscaped garden, only to see Xavier stretching by the side of the road.
Seeing her approach, Xavier stood up, his dark eyes smiling at her in the sunlight.
Aveline ignored him, running past him with a cold expression.
Xavier caught up to her. “Following behind me without even saying hello.”
“Are you planning to never speak to me again for the rest of our lives?”
Aveline didn’t say a word, just ran straight into the yard and started doing her stretches there.
There were tables and chairs in the yard. Xavier walked over, sat down, and just watched her.
Aveline knew what Xavier’s strategy was: to annoy her, or make her mistakenly think he cared, so she would with- draw the divorce petition on her own.
She had been the one to file with the court, so he must have felt humiliated. After all, if there was going to be a di- vorce, he should be the one to initiate it.
Besides, Rupert had probably given him an earful too.
