Leona said irritably, “I know.”
Xavier hung up the phone.
Even though he’d scolded Leona, Xavier’s anger hadn’t subsided.
Because he knew that after what Leona pulled tonight, Aveline’s misunderstanding would only deepen, and it would be incredibly hard for him to explain.
“Damn it!”
Xavier kicked the bed.
Then he walked out to the balcony to get some air.
Then he remembered Marjorie’s Social Feed, and he wanted to know if she had deleted that post and issued a public clarification statement.
Josephine was blocked, so he had to call Gerald.
Gerald picked up quickly, sounding annoyed. “Are you calling to see if I got home safe?”
Xavier asked coldly, “Did Marjorie delete that photo? Did she post a clarification?”
Gerald was stunned for a moment, then got angry. “You called just to ask about that?
Have you no conscience?”
“I’ll have someone check tomorrow. If she hasn’t handled it and clarified, then she’s not allowed to continue filming that movie.”
“And another thing, make it clear to Josephine. From now on, none of you are to post any photos or posts about me on any social media platform.”
Gerald asked, “What do you mean?”
“Don’t test my temper.”
With that, Xavier hung up.
Then he looked at Aveline’s WhatsApp, hesitated for a moment, and sent a message.

At the Sutton family’s home, when Gerald walked Josephine to the door, he told her he would talk to Xavier again, but Josephine, knowing Xavier’s attitude, didn’t hold out any hope.
Once inside, she immediately went to find her mom and tell her what happened.
Jacob happened to be there too, and after listening, he said in shock, “You asked Xavier to buy you a villa worth hun- dreds of millions?”
Back in the day, when he bought Courtney a house, it was only a little over ten million.
Josephine said impatiently, “Dad, weren’t you listening? It was Gerald’s idea, I didn’t ask Xavier to buy it.”
Courtney gave Jacob a push. “You’re all sweaty, go take a shower.”
Jacob had no choice but to get up and leave, but at the doorway, he turned back and said:
“Josie, let me remind you. Even though Xavier is very rich, asking him for some jewelry is one thing, but a villa worth hundreds of millions is going too far. Any man, no matter how rich, would mind that.”
“Don’t be impatient. Once he divorces your sister and marries you, his money will be yours to spend however you like.”
Courtney frowned. “That’s enough. Do I not know how to raise my own daughter? I don’t need you to teach me. Hur- ry up and go shower.”
So Jacob left.
Courtney motioned for Josephine to close the door, then asked her, “Gerald was the one who brought it up. You didn’t make it seem like it was your idea and make Xavier suspicious, did you?”
Josephine thought for a moment. “I don’t think so.”
“I just said I needed to borrow a villa for the movie, and Gerald just followed my lead and suggested it.”
“But Xav didn’t say a word and even changed the subject, saying something about how the Patriarch of his family once told him to buy a house on Mount Ardwood.”
Holding her belly, Courtney frowned. From constantly frowning while scheming, a rather distinct line had already formed between her brows.
“What does Xavier mean by that? Is he implying something?”
“But your dad was right, asking Xavier to buy a villa worth hundreds of millions is a bit much. I just wanted you to test him.”
