Rupert said, “Talk to her nicely. Don’t make her angry.”

Xavier grunted in agreement and gave a wry smile as he turned to go back inside.

After breakfast, he drove to Garden Estate himself.

When Aveline got back from her run and stepped inside, she heard Xavier’s voice. Her expression immediately turned cold.

Walking into the living room, she saw him sitting and drinking tea with Collin.

Xavier looked up at her, his dark eyes deep and intense.

Aveline said coldly, “I told you last night not to come here anymore.”

Xavier replied, “Grandpa asked me to come pick you up for lunch. You’re heading back to Mount Ardwood this after- noon, right?”

Collin kept his eyes lowered, sipping his tea, intending to let his granddaughter make her own decision. He wouldn’t interfere.

Aveline was covered in sweat and just wanted to take a shower. Not wanting to argue with Xavier, she said:

“I’m not going. You should leave now.”
