Chapter 380
Aveline’s eyes narrowed as she looked at him, and she seemed to grow even colder.
Aveline said coldly, “It’s always been one–sided on my part. We never even started.”
“Once I make a decision, I don’t change it.”
Just like when she fell for him at eighteen and pursued him without a second thought.
It wasn’t until her heart was frozen solid that she decided to leave him.
Xavier frowned slightly. “What do you mean, one–sided? Didn’t I tell you I like you, that I love you too?”
As he spoke, he took Aveline’s hand.
Aveline flinched as if she’d been shocked and tried to pull away, but Xavier had anticipated it and held on tight.
“The director of the convalescent home recommended a senior therapist to me. How about we go see them together one of these days?”
“Let go.”
Aveline tried to yank her hand away forcefully.
Xavier, afraid she would hurt herself, let go.
But the moment he let go, he pulled Aveline into his arms. “Aveline, let’s just meet them. If you don’t think it’s good, we’ll forget about it, okay?”
Xavier’s voice was soft as he said this, almost as if he was begging her.
Aveline froze for a moment.
But she quickly snapped out of it, pushing him hard as she said, “Do you want me to scream and bring my maternal grandparents over?”
Xavier had no choice but to release her, his dark eyes fixed on her. “Can’t you just talk to me calmly?”
A cold smile touched Aveline’s lips. “Xavier, as for the therapist, you definitely need to see one. I don’t. You’re the one who’s sick, not me.”
After saying that, she gave him a shove. He stepped aside, clearing the way, and she headed downstairs.
Xavier watched Aveline’s retreating back, his dark eyes deep, and sighed inwardly.
It would take more time to win her over.

Chapter 380
Anyway, that therapist is at the Liutou Mountain Wellness Retreat. Maybe I should ask her to meet Aveline at the ho-
tel.
Xavier went downstairs.
Aveline had gone into the dining room for breakfast, with Paulina keeping her company. Only Collin was in the liv- ing room, sitting on the sofa watching the news on TV.
Xavier walked over and sat on another sofa. Seeing Collin staring at him without a word, he managed a smile.
“Aveline is still mad at me.”
Collin glanced toward the dining room, then said, “Aveline is very stubborn. Once she’s made up her mind about something, she’s unlikely to change it. Xavier, do you understand?”
Xavier’s expression turned cold.
Of course, he understood Collin meant that since Aveline had decided on a divorce, nothing he did to win her back would work.
But he pretended not to understand and said to Collin, “Collin, for your birthday celebration, how about I have a whole lamb roasted for you? My older sister’s husband introduced me to a chef, and I’ve tried his cooking. It’s really good.”
Collin sighed. “Xavier, you don’t have to do this. Let’s just part on good…”
Xavier cut him off. “I should get going, I have to work overtime at the office. I’ll go say goodbye to Paulina.”
With that, he stood up and went to the dining room.
Collin’s eyes narrowed as he watched Xavier’s tall, straight back, unsure of what to make of his intentions.
If you said Xavier was sincere about his granddaughter, she didn’t think so. If you said he wasn’t sincere, then why didn’t he want a divorce?
