Chapter 379
His long fingers tapped on his phone screen as he thought about how to coax Aveline later.
Remembering the Social Feed incident, he frowned slightly. He opened his phone and realized he didn’t have Jas- mine’s number, nor had he added her on WhatsApp.
He called Ryan. “Look up Jasmine’s number and send it to me.”
Ryan quickly opened his computer, found it in the company’s internal system, and sent it to Xavier.
Xavier called the number. Jasmine was probably sleeping in for the weekend; from the sound of her voice, it seemed the call had woken her up.
Xavier said, “Jasmine, this is Xavier.”
Jasmine was stunned for a moment, “Xa–Xavier?”
“Yes, check if Marjorie has deleted that Social Feed post.”
Jasmine was baffled, “Huh?”
“I told her she had to delete it. You check.”
Jasmine sobered up, realizing what was going on. “Um, Mr. Beltran, you called me this early in the morning just for this?”
“Isn’t this important?
Aveline is already blaming me for it.”
Jasmine:

Forget it, he’s the big client boss, she might as well check.
She could also consider it checking for Aveline’s sake.
The question was, why didn’t Xavier just ask Josephine?
Seriously, not even letting people sleep in on a weekend.
“Mr. Beltran, please wait a moment.”
After a moment, Jasmine said, “Mr. Beltran, Marjorie has already deleted it.”
“What about the public clarification statement? Did she post it?”
“She did. She said the painting wasn’t Steven’s, but a photo a friend of his showed him. She misunderstood, so she

deleted the post.”
“Alright, then please take a screenshot and send it to Aveline.”
“I’m hanging up.
With that, Xavier hung up the phone.
Jasmine:

She quickly called Aveline, but Aveline was in the shower and didn’t pick up.
Jasmine took a screenshot and sent it to Aveline, [Xavier told me to send this to you.]
Aveline came out of the bathroom, dried her hair, applied her skincare products, and picked up her phone to see missed calls and messages.
After looking at them, she called Jasmine, who answered quickly.
“Xavier woke me up first thing in the morning, just to have me check Marjorie’s Social Feed and then send you a screenshot.”
Aveline replied, “I saw it. Sorry about that, he’s been playing games lately.”
“You should go back to sleep. I’ll pick you up at three this afternoon, and we’ll head back to Mount Ardwood.”
“I’m awake now, I can’t go back to sleep.
Ava, Xavier is so weird. He used to be so cold to you, and now that you’re filing for divorce, he’s pestering you con- stantly. What’s up with that?”
“I have a pretty good idea what’s going on. Let’s talk about it when I pick you up this afternoon.”
Just then, Xavier knocked on the door from outside. “Who are you bad–mouthing me to?”
Aveline glanced coldly at the door. “I’m hanging up.”
Then, she walked over and opened the door, only to see Xavier leaning against the wall next to the doorframe, turning his head to look at her.
“Did Jasmine send you the screenshot of Marjorie’s Social Feed?”
“I’ve already taken care of this. Can we move on now?”
Aveline said coldly, “You haven’t told the Patriarch that I’ve filed for divorce in court, have you?”
“You’re asking me to dinner at the Beltran’s mansion, aren’t you afraid I’ll tell the Patriarch?”
“I don’t care one bit about the old man’s feelings. I told him to his face before that I wanted a divorce, as you’ve wit-
nessed.”
