Leona was so angry she slammed her hand on the arm of the sofa. “You’re driving me crazy! I’ve helped you this much, and you’re still protecting Aveline.”
“If you tell Grandpa the truth, he’ll only feel for you. What are you afraid of?”
Xavier smiled, “Yeah, what am I afraid of? Why do you think I’m scared?”
“You think I’d be scared of my own grandfather?”
“Leona, you weren’t even there when my accident happened. What are you doing here, yelling about the truth?”
Leona turned to Bryan and said sharply, “Bryan, speak.”
Bryan flinched and blurted out, “It was Ms. Josephine.”
Rupert frowned, staring at him.
Lauren cried out, “Ah, it was really Josephine?”
Then she thought about how close Xavier was with Josephine. It looked like Leona was right–Xavier knew the whole time, and that’s why he was being so nice to her.
Lauren looked at Xavier.
Xavier’s dark eyes were cold as he looked at Bryan.
He hadn’t expected Bryan to name Josephine right in front of him.
Heh, Leona really has her ways.
Xavier laughed coldly.
“You took so much money from me, and now you’re here spouting nonsense.”
Xavier said as he stood up straight, his face cold as he kicked Bryan.
Bryan yelped “Ah!” and fell in terror toward Leona on the other side.
Leona, disgusted, pushed him away with both hands.
So Bryan lunged forward, tripped over the coffee table, and sprawled awkwardly on the floor.
Seeing Xavier get violent, Rupert frowned while Lauren cried out in alarm, “Oh, Xavier, don’t do that.”
Xavier paid them no mind, his face dark as he went to kick Bryan, who was on the floor.
“You dare come here and talk crap? Either you give me my money back, or I’ll sue you for extortion and send you to prison.”
