Urging Him to Get a Divorce novel Chapter 391

As she spoke, Lauren was already getting up.

She thought Xavier was probably upset that Leona had acted on her own. Siding with her son, she planned to per- suade Leona to hold off and ask for Xavier’s opinion first.

But Leona knew that if she didn’t let Bryan tell the Patriarch what happened today, she would never get another chance.

She had no idea what Xavier was thinking, wanting to cover up Aveline’s lie.

“Mom, I know what you want to say. Don’t bother. I’ve already brought him here.”

The Patriarch looked sternly at Lauren. “You know what this is about?”

Lauren said uncomfortably, “I’m just guessing. I’m not sure.”

Xavier laughed. “Alright, Leona, hurry up. Say what you have to say. No one is stopping you.”

“But let’s be clear, this is you talking, not you talking for me. You don’t have the right to speak for me.”

Bryan glanced at Xavier, but Xavier didn’t look at him.

Leona snorted defiantly, then she said:

“Grandpa, Aveline isn’t the one who saved Xavier. Bryan is the witness, because when it happened, Bryan saw who it was.”

“Bryan, tell the Patriarch everything clearly.”

When Rupert heard Leona’s first sentence, he was completely stunned. After her second sentence, he turned to look at Bryan.

Lauren sighed, but also felt a sense of relief that things were finally out in the open, and sat down.

Xavier looked at Bryan with a half–smile.

Bryan looked troubled. “Miss, please don’t force me.”

Leona was annoyed. “Who’s forcing you? I’m telling you to tell the truth, the whole truth.”

Bryan hesitated, glancing at Xavier’s faint smile. “Mr. Beltran, I…”

Xavier gave a faint smile, said nothing, and picked up his teacup to take another sip.

Rupert grew impatient. “What on earth is going on?”

“Aveline clearly saved Xavier, so why are you saying she didn’t? What are you all up to?”

“What have you all been doing behind my back?”

Leona exclaimed, “Grandpa, it’s not that we’ve been doing things behind your back. It’s Aveline who has been deceiv- ing our entire family.”

“Why would Aveline lie to us?”

“To marry Xavier, of course.”

“That’s ridiculous. She didn’t need to lie to us to marry Xavier.

I asked the boy myself. He said he liked Aveline, which is why he got engaged to her and got the marriage certifi- cate.”

Leona snorted, looking at Xavier. “Do you really like Aveline?
