Fiona was taken aback, then she snorted, “You called me just to ask about Gerald?”
“Mr. Beltran, how did you mistake Fiona for Gerald when you made the call?”
Xavier said coolly, “If he’s at the law firm, put him on.”
“Am I your secretary? No.”
“Fiona, is this how your firm treats its major clients?”
Fiona retorted irritably, “What, are you going to complain about me to the managing partner?”
“Just wait.”
The managing partner was a real nag, so she decided not to make things difficult for Xavier, lest he actually resort to such a childish act of filing a complaint.
Fiona walked out of her office to Gerald’s, handing him her phone.
“Take the call.‘
”
Gerald looked up at her. “Who is it?”
“You’ll know when you answer.
Gerald assumed it was a client from the firm and answered, “Hello?”
Xavier asked in a flat voice, “Have you transferred the title for that Winslow Heights house or
not?”
Hearing Xavier’s voice, Gerald snapped, “You want to take back something you already gave away? Have you no shame?”
Xavier said coldly, “Gerald, do you still want to be a lawyer, talking to a client like that?”
Gerald’s face darkened, but he fell silent.
Fiona watched him with interest, curious about what Xavier was saying to him.
Gerald noticed Fiona’s gaze and waved for her to get out.

Fiona scoffed, pointing at the phone in his hand, as if to say he was holding her phone and still trying to kick her out
Gerald, resigned, had no choice but to say to Xavier, “It’s halfway through the process.”
“So it hasn’t been transferred. Cancel it. Don’t transfer it.
Gerald got angry. “Xavier, you…”
”
“What, Mr. Henderson? Do you have a problem with me not wanting to transfer my own property?”
“Why are you doing this to Josie?
She saved you.”
Hearing this, Fiona raised an eyebrow.
Xavier said coolly, “I told you to cancel it, so cancel it. Get the Property Deed back to ́me.”
He couldn’t tell Gerald that he was reinvestigating what happened back then, lest the blockhead run off and tell Josephine.
Then, he hung up.
Gerald angrily threw the phone onto the desk.
Fiona cried out, “Hey, that’s my phone! Show some respect.”
Gerald snapped, “A phone needs respect?
Just take it and go.”
Fiona leaned over the desk, hands planted on it, and stared at Gerald. “What’s wrong with Xavier and his darling now?”
Gerald glared back at her. “None of your damn business.”
Fiona’s lips curled into a contemptuous smile. “You men are so stupid, you deserve to be tricked by a manipulative woman.”
After saying that, she grabbed her phone, stood up straight, then picked up a cup of coffee from the desk and poured it out on the surface.
Gerald jumped, scrambling back to avoid the coffee spilling on him, and yelled angrily:
