“Aveline, do you plan on having me hold you in the bathroom like this until nightfall?”
Aveline was annoyed, but she had no choice but to move her hand. “Don’t you dare look down at me, or I’ll poke your eyes out.”
Xavier couldn’t believe she’d actually say that. He laughed.
“I don’t know what to do with you. How can you even say that?”
But Xavier didn’t argue with her. He kept his eyes up and walked out of the bathroom as he spoke.
He set her down on the bed, and Aveline immediately yanked the covers over her entire body.
She glared at Xavier.
With all the commotion, Xavier’s bathrobe had loosened, revealing his muscular chest and abs.
Aveline looked away coldly. “Go get my bathrobe.”
Xavier adjusted his own robe and sat on the edge of the bed, reaching for the blanket by her feet. “Let me see if you hurt it worse.”
Aveline kicked at him with her right foot. “I have eyes, I can see for myself. Go get my robe.”
Xavier knew how stubborn she was. He got up with a sigh. “Yes, ma’am.”
Then he went to the closet and brought back a woman’s bathrobe.
Aveline took it and ordered, “Turn around.”
Xavier chuckled, did as she said, and turned his back to her. “Yes, ma’am,” he said again.
Aveline’s ankle was throbbing with pain. “Just shut up,” she snapped.
“Can’t you just get out?”
Xavier replied, “No.”
Aveline couldn’t be bothered with him anymore, put on her bathrobe, and then checked her left
ankle.

When Xavier didn’t hear from her for a while, he turned around, only to see her looking at her ankle, frowning and gently touching it with her fingers.
Xavier saw how badly swollen the ankle was, frowned, and sat on the edge of the bed. “Let me
see.”
Aveline wanted to pull her foot back, but realizing it would hurt, she didn’t dare to move. “Don’t touch me.”
Xavier said irritably, “You’re already hurt. Can you stop being so stubborn and fighting with me?”
With that, he lowered his head to examine her ankle carefully.
Then he said, “Keep icing it.”
After saying that, he got up, grabbed some ice from the bucket, wrapped it in a towel, and came back to the bed to ice her foot.
Aveline was silent, just staring at her ankle.
Xavier looked at her, his dark eyes deep. “Does it hurt?”
Aveline said nothing.
He added, “Tell me if it gets too cold.”
Even so, Xavier would only apply the ice for a short while before moving it away, so she wouldn’t get frostbite.
“I’ve sprained my ankle before, so I have experience. leing it works. Just don’t move around too much for the next few days, and it’ll slowly get better.”
Aveline knew Xavier was right, because he’d sprained his ankle playing ball once before, and she was the one who’d gotten him ice to put on it.
Xavier remembered it too, and looking at her, he said, “Do you remember when we first started dating, how I sprained my ankle playing ball at school…”
Aveline said coldly, “I don’t remember.”
Xavier chuckled and dropped the subject. Her foot was already hurting, he didn’t need to make her feel any worse.
After about twenty minutes, Xavier took the ice pack off and looked closely. “The swelling has
