Chapter 48
Julian handed their three compiled resumes to Simon.
Bernard took a sip of tea and smiled. “They just started a studio and landed the landscape design project for Crest- mark’s The Mountainous Resort. Now they’re preparing to launch a company.”
Jasmine nodded. “Yes, we’re getting ready to hire.”
Simon was secretly surprised to hear from Bernard that Aveline’s team had already landed the project for Crestmark’s The Mountainous Resort.
He had heard that the architect for that Crestmark project had received high praise from Sebastian, and that a host of other excellent bidders had been eliminated.
Sebastian was an architect from a prestigious overseas university. Not only were his professional skills top–notch, but he also had a unique eye. Simon had never heard of a domestic architect earning his praise, so when he heard Sebas- tian had commended a young architect, he’d been wanting to meet them.
He never expected it to be Aveline.
Simon opened the resumes. Jasmine’s and Julian’s were excellent, but when he saw Aveline’s, it was even more out- standing, and he was shocked.
Simon was in the engineering field, after all, so he naturally followed news in the architectural design industry. He knew there was a brilliant rising star in the country who was already gaining some international fame.
The reason he didn’t know that rising star was Aveline was because she signed her designs simply as Aveline, not Aveline.
Seeing the shock on Simon’s face, Bernard smiled slightly and picked up his teacup for a sip.
Jasmine and Julian naturally saw it too. They exchanged a look, both wondering if it meant their resumes had won Si- mon over, especially Aveline’s.
Only Aveline thought that since Simon knew Bernard had recommended her, he would be even less likely to hire her easily. He would definitely need Xavier to make the final decision.
After Simon finished reading the resumes, he handed them to the person with him, then gave Aveline a long look. “I didn’t expect Ms. Sutton to be this impressive.”
Aveline smiled. “You’re too kind, Mr. Barron.”
Bernard put down his teacup and asked, “What about Mr. Beltran? Is he coming?”
Simon replied to him, “Oh, Mr. Beltran has something this afternoon, so he probably won’t be able to make it. But I’ll report everything from our meeting to him.”

Chapter 48
When Aveline heard that, she guessed Xavier must have gone to Valentina’s parent–teacher conference.
Hearing what Simon said, Bernard Clarke frowned slightly. “You can’t make the decision?”
Simon felt a bit awkward. After all, he had indeed said before that the would definitely agree to anyone Bernard rec- ommended.
But since it was Aveline, he really didn’t dare to make the call. He had to report to Mr. Beltran and let him decide.
He felt something was off. Why didn’t Mr. Beltran know Aveline was going to take on this project?
Did Aveline not tell Mr. Beltran because she knew he wouldn’t agree?
Simon said, “I didn’t realize Aveline was Ms. Sutton. I’ve seen Aveline’s work, and it’s very creative. I do hope Ms. Sutton can take on this project, but the situation has changed. I need to report to Mr. Beltran, but I will definitely rec- ommend Ms. Sutton strongly.”
Putting personal factors aside, he personally felt that hiring Aveline would definitely be most beneficial for the Mount Ardwood Amusement Park project.
Jasmine probed, “Does Mr. Beltran already have someone in mind?”
Simon froze for a moment. Yesterday, Mr. Beltran had indeed given him an architect’s resume and told him to look into the architect’s work in detail.
