“Right now, paid online trolls are steering the narrative. Some are saying you did it for Josephine, to help her sister, and that because her sister dislikes Dylan, she framed him for stealing the design concepts, and you kicked him off the project team without any proof.”
“Others are saying that Aveline is cold–blooded and heartless. Last night, at her father’s birthday party, she angered her grandmother, causing her to collapse at the banquet and be rushed to the hospital with a brain hemorrhage. She almost didn’t make it.”
Xavier was furious. In a cold voice, he asked, “And has anyone mentioned that Dylan is Josephine’s cousin?”
Ryan replied, “Mr. Beltran, I checked. They actually haven’t.”
Xavier scoffed. “They revealed our lead architect’s real name, and that she and Josephine are half- sisters, but they somehow failed to mention that Dylan is Josephine’s cousin. How interesting.”
“Are they planning to make us reveal it ourselves?”
Ryan knew Mr. Beltran was furious, so he didn’t dare say another word.
Xavier was silent for a moment, then asked, “What’s the status with the PR department?”
“The PR department says that media outlet is not cooperating. They refuse to reveal their source.‘
Xavier’s face turned cold. He knew that if he really applied pressure, the media outlet would definitely reveal their source, but knowing the source was useless. The story was already out, and it had already damaged Aveline’s reputation.
Besides, the mastermind behind this likely has another move planned.
The ones who put Dylan up to this were almost certainly Courtney and Josephine, but Xavier felt there was someone else behind them, hiding in the shadows and directing everything.
Otherwise, that mother and daughter couldn’t have been that capable.
Xavier said, “It’s the weekend. If the media asks, just tell them we’ll respond on a workday.”
He had to discuss it with Aveline to see what she thought before he could decide how to handle

After hanging up, he went into the walk–in closet, changed his clothes, and then drove to Garden
Estate.
When he arrived at Garden Estate, Miranda told Xavier that Christopher and another old man had gone to the landscaped garden to play chess with other seniors to unwind, and that Aveline was still sleeping because she hadn’t slept well last night
Miranda asked. “Should I go wake Aveline?”
She saw that Xavier looked off, like something important was on his mind.
Xavier replied. “No. let her sleep. I’ll wait for her here.”
With that, he sat down on the living room sofa.
So. Miranda had no choice but to go make him some tea.
A little after ten. Aveline was woken up by a call from Fiona. Fiona asked her,
“Is your ankle okay now? Are we still taking the three o’clock flight to Kralville?”
Aveline replied. “Yeah, we’ll stick to the plan. Come over to my place for lunch, and then we can go to the airport from here.”
Fiona agreed.
After hanging up. Aveline got out of bed and went into the bathroom to shower.
By the time she finished her shower and came out, it was already eleven. Aveline decided to skip breakfast and pack her luggage.
Downstairs, Xavier saw that Aveline hadn’t come down and wasn’t sure if she was even awake, so he went upstairs to find her.
Miranda was in the kitchen preparing lunch, so she didn’t notice him go upstairs.
The bedroom door was unlocked. Xavier turned the handle, the door opened, and he walked in.
Aveline, who was packing in the walk–in closet, didn’t expect it to be Xavier. Thinking it was Miranda, she said:
“Miranda, Fiona is coming over for lunch soon. We have a three o’clock flight this afternoon.”
Xavier walked to the entrance of the walk–in closet and asked, “Where are you going?”
Hearing his voice, Aveline was startled. She turned to look at him and said coldly, “What are you
