Chapter 573
So someone got curious, “That plagiarist, the’s PR department said he’s related to the female director. Is that true?”
Fiona saw that Aveline wasn’t speaking, taking it as permission to be direct, so she replied, “He’s her cousin.”
“Damn it, don’t tell me that illegitimate daughter is making trouble for Aveline?”
Aveline said calmly, “Who knows? Only they know for sure.
Just then, someone at the table said, “Isn’t that Mr. Vance from the Wenya Group? The woman who came in with him looks a bit familiar, like I’ve seen her somewhere before.”
“I heard that John Vance got divorced two years ago because his wife couldn’t stand his womanizing. After the divorce, he started openly bringing young, beautiful women with him everywhere.”
“And he prefers flashy women. This new one is a total social butterfly.”
Aveline and Fiona heard them gossiping and looked curiously toward the entrance.
Then the two of them exchanged a look, because the woman walking arm–in–arm with John into The Blossom Garden, wearing a flashy floral gown, was Josephine.
Fiona leaned closer to Aveline, “You know John, right?”
Aveline had heard of the UK’s Elegant Group, of course, but she didn’t know its executives. “Not really.”
Fiona said, “He’s a total playboy. His father died two years ago, and he inherited everything. But the guy’s incompetent. He’ll run Elegant Group into the ground sooner or later.”
“What’s with my brother? Crestmark and Elegant don’t do business together. Why did he invite · that playboy over?”
“For Josephine to actually get her hooks into him… heh, she’s really something.”
Aveline shot a cold look at Josephine and John before looking away, thinking Josephine must have hooked up with that playboy old enough to be her dad after failing to get Xavier to bring her

Just as Fiona had said, Josephine really had some skills, managing to hook up with a rich man from England.
She was way better than Courtney: Courtney could only catch small fry like Jacob.
She wondered what Xavier would think when he saw her walk in with the president of the Vance
Group.
Although Aveline was curious, she didn’t look toward Xavier and just kept her head down, eating.
Fiona’s friend saw her talking with Aveline, caught a few words, and asked, “Do you and Aveline
know that woman?”
Fiona gave a scornful smile and replied, “She’s that female director.”
Everyone at the table “ah’d” in unison.
“No wonder she looked familiar. It’s Josephine. I’ve seen her picture online.”
“She came in with John, so it looks like she and Mr. Beltran aren’t really a thing. Everyone’s just been guessing all this time.”
“Well, she shot the commercial for the’s plaza, they invested in her movie, and Xavier is single. It’s only natural people would speculate.”
“Aveline, you know Mr. Beltran. I heard he’s engaged. Is that true?”
Aveline froze, wondering how to answer the question.
Fiona cut in, “I know Xavier too. Why don’t you ask me?”
“We did ask you. And what did you say?
You said, ‘Don’t ask me about that bastard.‘
You clearly don’t get along with Xavier.”
“Fiona, what did Xavier do to offend you? You never say.”
Fiona laughed and said, “Aveline doesn’t get along with Xavier either. She thinks he’s a bastard too, so you all should stop asking her about him.”
Meanwhile, Xavier, though talking with others, kept glancing over at Aveline. When he saw her, Fiona, and the others at the table look toward the entrance, he curiously looked over too.
