Urging Him to Get a Divorce novel Chapter 574

Chapter 574

Someone said, I saw the reports. They said the movie wasn’t meeting expectations and production has been halted, is that right, Mr. Beltran?

Xavier replied, That’s right.

So it was a bad start. Does that mean you’re giving up on film investments?

We’re planning to replace the director.

Hearing this, everyone figured Xavier probably wasn’t really backing that female director after all. Otherwise, why would he replace her?

Besides, if that female director was really under Xavier’s protection, would she dare to throw herself into John’s arms?

Even if John wasn’t picky, he wouldn’t dare touch one of Xavier’s women.

John had a reputation, so when people saw he had a new woman, they all looked over, sizing up Josephine.

Josephine, however, didn’t know about John’s reputation. Seeing so many people looking over satisfied her vanity, reminding her of Alfred’s birthday party, when Xavier had brought her and everyone’s eyes were on her.

Too bad the man with her now wasn’t the tall, handsome Xavier, but a fat, bald, lecherous old man who could be her father.

At that thought, Josephine felt a surge of resentment and looked around for Xavier and Aveline.

She saw Aveline first, who was with Fiona, laughing and chatting with the other women at their table.

Finally, Aveline and Fiona looked her way. She immediately lifted her chin slightly, but Aveline only glanced at her for a second before coldly looking away, as if she wasn’t even worth looking

Aveline must have told them that she was the daughter of the other woman, that she was her father’s illegitimate child, just dragging her name through the mud.

Josephine realized that if Xavier were by her side instead of John, no matter how Aveline tried to put her down, no one would care. Instead, everyone would be jealous that she had won Xavier’s favor.

John saw that Josephine looked upset and asked with concern, Ms. Sutton, are you hungry? Come on, let’s get something to eat.

Josephine composed herself and said, Mr. Vance, let’s go say hello to Mr. Harmon first.

Oh, alright. Mr. Harmon is over there.

Oh, and Mr. Beltran is there too.

Josephine quickly followed John’s gaze and, sure enough, saw Xavier.

But he wasn’t looking her way; he was talking to the person beside him.

Josephine clenched her fists again.

John noticed the strange expression on Josephine’s face again and asked, Ms. Sutton, Mr. Beltran won’t be angry seeing you with me, will he?

Josephine smiled. Mr. Vance, if Mr. Beltran gets angry, will you let him have me back?

John laughed. Absolutely not. You’re mine tonight. I wouldn’t trade you for anything Mr. Beltran could offer.

The way he said it, as if she were an object, made Josephine very uncomfortable.

But she had to endure it; she couldn’t just storm off in a huff.

She and John walked toward Xavier. She tried to pull her arm from John’s, but he was forceful and insisted she keep it linked with his.

Along the way, John took a glass of red wine from a waiter, handed it to Josephine, grabbed one for himself, then clinked his glass against hers and took a sip.

When people came over to greet John, he would stop to talk, in no hurry at all to greet Sebastian

and Xavier.

Josephine was getting incredibly anxious and uncomfortable, because the people talking to John
