Chapter 596
She hadn’t known Xavier for just a day or two; it had been years, and they had lived together for a year. She knew how shrewd, cunning, and ruthless he was in business.
Who knew if he would use the same tactics on her.
Refusing to divorce her must be in his best interest; otherwise, he wouldn’t have gotten engaged to her and signed the marriage certificate.
He chose to get the marriage certificate with her; there was no way he would agree to a divorce just a few days after she brought it up.
Maybe he really did want to spend the rest of his life with her, because she was a suitable marriage partner.
It was also possible that he would divorce her one day, but not now.
Aveline couldn’t see through Xavier’s intentions, and she didn’t want to waste any more energy trying to understand him. She was tired; she wanted to be free.
Even if he really did love her, she felt it was too late.
She didn’t dare to gamble again. If she believed him and didn’t go through with the divorce, what if one day she found out she had bet wrong?
How much time in life can you afford to waste?
The plane landed, and it was time to get the luggage. Xavier got his own bags and told Amy to help Aveline and Fiona with theirs.
Josephine watched, bit her lip, and walked up to Xavier. “Xav, can you help me get my luggage? I can’t reach it.”
Xavier gave her a cold glance, sat back down in his seat to wait for the cabin door to open, and ignored her.
Josephine walked away, looking wronged.
The other passengers in business class naturally recognized Xavier. Seeing how coldly he treated the woman asking for help, they gave him a cryptic look.

Chapter 596
They were all guessing what the woman’s relationship was to Xavier.
Xavier’s face was cold; he hadn’t expected Josephine to be this shameless.

No, it wasn’t shamelessness, but persistence, racking her brains to embarrass him and Aveline in public.
He had been so blind these past two years, failing to see what kind of person she was.
Since coming to his senses, Xavier sometimes really wanted to slap himself a few times.
So his heart was filled with hatred for the mother and daughter, Josephine and Courtney, and the mastermind behind them.
Aveline and Fiona saw what Josephine did. Aveline coolly looked away, while Fiona studied Xavier’s expression with a half–smile.
She leaned closer to Aveline. “How interesting.”
“If Xavier and Josephine aren’t just putting on a show, then he must be learning just how shameless she can be.”
After getting off the plane, Aveline and Fiona walked ahead, with Xavier and Amy following behind them.
As for Josephine, she trailed behind Xavier, her eyes glaring with hatred at the people in front.
If anyone had noticed her expression, they would have suspected something was wrong with her, who looks at people like that.
Outside the terminal, Aveline got into Fiona’s car, and Xavier told Amy to drive and follow them.
Once in the city, Amy said, “Mr. Beltran, based on the route, it looks like Madam is heading back to Garden Estate.”
Xavier, who had been resting with his eyes closed, heard this and said lightly, “Then let’s go back to the mansion.”
So, at the intersection, Amy drove in another direction.
Fiona glanced at the rearview mirror from time to time and said to Aveline, “Xavier’s car isn’t following us anymore, but Josephine’s car is following him.”
Aveline glanced out the car window and happened to see Josephine’s car behind the black Bentley. She remained silent and indifferent.
