Chapter 64
Sebastian smiled, “If you don’t want to call me ‘brother‘ like Fiona does, just use my name. ‘Mr. Harmon‘ is too for- mal, especially since I’m already calling you Aveline.”
Aveline wasn’t used to getting too friendly with clients, but since Sebastian was Fiona’s cousin and admired her so much, being too formal would seem pretentious.
She smiled sheepishly, “Okay.”
Glancing up casually, she saw Xavier and Josephine across the table watching them.
Xavier’s eyes were like a deep pool, unreadable; he smiled and looked away when he saw Aveline look over.
Aveline frowned slightly, wondering if his smile was mocking or disdainful.
Josephine raised an eyebrow and said, “Mr. Harmon is so good to my sister. At a glance, you two actually look like a great match.”
Daniel started choking, as if on his water.
Aveline quickly asked with concern, “Are you okay?”
Daniel shook his head, “I’m fine, I’m fine.”
Then he looked at Josephine with an expression that wasn’t quite a smile and asked, “Are
Josephine blinked her innocent, charming almond–shaped eyes. “Of course I am.”
Daniel chuckled drily and said nothing more.
Josephine seemed unwilling to let it go, pressing, “Daniel, what were you going to say?”
Daniel said with a faint smile, “I have nothing to say to you.”
Aveline picked up her teacup and took a sip of tea.
Did she not know Josephine’s tricks?
you serious?”
She deliberately said Aveline and Sebastian were a good match, both to hint at something between them and to hope someone would say she and Xavier also looked good together.
Daniel didn’t take the bait..
Daniel had choked in surprise because Josephine had said, right in front of Xavier, that his fiancée and Sebastian were a good match–it was so manipulative, so shameless.
Josephine turned to Xavier, blinking her charming almond–shaped eyes, “Did I say the wrong thing?”

Xavier said, “You’ll have to ask the person you said that to.”
Josephine looked at Aveline and smiled wryly, “Forget it.”
Xavier picked up the serving utensils and placed some meat and vegetables on Josephine’s plate. “Don’t just eat the Plain Rice Porridge. Have some of the other dishes.”
Josephine beamed, “Okay, thank you, darling.”
With that, she picked up her fork and started eating.
Daniel asked with a faint smile, “Is your motion sickness better?”
Josephine smiled, “Yes, much better.”
Daniel said, “You should ride in cars less and walk more. Exercise more, and you won’t get motion sickness.”
Josephine gave a small laugh and said nothing. She wanted to clench her left fist, but since her hand was on the table, she quickly relaxed it.
Sebastian turned to Aveline, “Aveline, do you exercise regularly?”
Aveline nodded, “Yes, I run and swim.”
In her line of work, constantly hunched over drawing, she had to have an exercise routine to keep up.
When she lived at Winslow Heights, there was a gym and a pool for her to use. But living at her studio lately, she hadn’t exercised in quite some time.
If she couldn’t find a good apartment soon, she might as well start running outdoors in the mornings or evenings.
Daniel looked Aveline over. “No wonder you’re in such great shape. You’re curvy and toned. It’s clear you work out regularly.”
Aveline said, “…Yeah, working out is great.”
Sebastian took a sip of red wine and asked, “Do you run outdoors or at a gym?”
