Xavier went running every morning. She had once wanted to join him, but when she asked, he’d reacted coldly and hadn’t answered. She assumed he wasn’t interested, so she let it go.
That’s why she always ran at the gym.
Sebastian was right. Running outdoors in the morning meant getting fresh air. From now on, she didn’t need the gym; she could run outside.
After dinner, Aveline offered to drive Jessica home, but Sebastian said it wasn’t necessary. His driver would take her, and he was staying at the restaurant for a while.
After saying goodbye to Sebastian and Daniel, Aveline walked out of the restaurant, with Xavier and Josephine fol- lowing.
Aveline was walking towards her car when Xavier suddenly appeared beside her and said, “The Patriarch might be back tomorrow. You should move back to Winslow Heights.”
Aveline looked up at him, her gaze cold. Then, without a word, she continued walking.
Her attitude was clear. She wasn’t moving back.
Xavier chuckled behind her and didn’t say anything else, turning to walk to his car.
Josephine asked him, “What did you say to my sister?”
Xavier replied, “Nothing. Just told her the Patriarch is coming back.”
Josephine was startled, her brow furrowed slightly.
Rupert Beltran disliked her even more than Lauren did.
Aveline drove out of the parking garage and onto the main road.
The black Bentley followed behind her car, keeping a proper distance. She wasn’t actually driving fast, but the black Bentley didn’t seem to want to pass.
But when they reached the city, the black Bentley turned in the opposite direction from her.
That was the way to Winslow Heights.
Aveline returned to her studio and went to the bathroom to take a shower.
Showering under the warm water, her expression was grim as she thought that even though she was determined to leave Xavier, she had been running into him far too often lately.

knew they were.
So, Xavier was the type to put food on someone’s plate for them.
Aveline let out a sarcastic laugh.
Coming out of the bathroom, she saw a message from Fiona: [Gerald just told me he’s got the agreement ready. He’ll give it to me tomorrow. He said Xavier gave you so much in assets, you’ll be laughing in your sleep.]
[I asked him if it was half of his fortune, and that bastard shot back, asking if you were being too greedy, saying you shouldn’t have gotten a single penny.]
[If a client hadn’t been there, I would have cursed him out.]
Aveline replied, [You two are partners at the same law firm. Don’t let things get too tense with him because of me.]
[Fiona, I’m really over Xavier.]
Fiona: [Aveline, why did you have to become an architect? It would’ve been so great if you were a lawyer. We could’ve opened a firm together.]
Aveline smiled. [It’s too late for me to change careers now.]
Fiona: [Even if I wanted to switch to being an architect, I don’t have the talent for it.]
[What was my brother thinking? How could he let you have dinner with Xavier and Josephine?]
Aveline’s smile faded. [We just happened to run into each other.]
[I’m fine. I’ve already taken on a project for the. I’ll definitely be seeing them often from now on. We might even end up having dinner together.]
