Since they needed to order a cake and buy a gift, the studio closed early. Julian said he had a fine bottle of wine from his collection at home, so they didn’t need to buy one, and Aveline and Jasmine went together to order the cake and buy a gift.

She pulled the car into a parking spot.

As they got out of the car, she and Jasmine walked toward the restaurant entrance, and then they saw Xavier and Josephine just getting out of a black Bentley and walking over.

Jacob frowned and shouted at her, “Aveline, you stop right there.”

Aveline ignored him and kept walking.

Courtney sneered, “She stole all your paintings. How could she have the nerve to face you?”

Courtney’s instigating words made Jacob even angrier, and he yelled furiously:

“Aveline, I, your daddy, told you to stop! Didn’t you hear me?”
