“Come on, let’s go open presents. The gifts from me, Jasmine, and Julian were all carefully chosen. I hope you like them.”

Fiona laughed. “Darling, if it’s from you, I’ll definitely love it. I’m just that biased when it comes to you.”

Aveline gave Fiona a wry smile and nudged her lightly, signaling her to stop messing around.

Fiona leaned in and whispered, “I just can’t stand the way your soon–to–be ex–husband defends her.”

Aveline shook her head and gave a helpless smile.

Xavier was completely ignoring her, treating her like she was invisible, while showering Josie with affection.

Fiona stood up and gave Jasmine a hug. When it was Julian’s turn, she saw his nervous expression and how he glanced at Aveline, and she laughed:

“What are you so nervous about? Do you have a crush on Aveline? Are you afraid she’ll see me hug you and get the wrong idea?”

Julian blushed and stammered, “Wh–what are you talking about?”

Aveline shot Fiona a look, as if to scold her for teasing again.
