My stomach swooped with anxiety, but I tried to play it cool. I picked up my orange juice and shrugged. “I thought that you called a maid ahead of time to stock up the fridge.”
For some reason, Alexander’s face fell. As he stared at me through narrowed eyes, it felt like I had failed some sort of test that I hadn’t known I was being subjected to.
*Olivia*
Annoyance flared in my chest. I slammed down my orange juice, and a little bit of the sticky liquid sloshed over the cup and onto my hand. As I grabbed a napkin, I shot Alexander a loaded look.
“I don’t want to play your games right now,” I grumbled. “If you want to tell me if you’re sleeping with other women after you became so pissed with me last night, then go ahead, but if not then-
Alexander raised his hands, cutting me off.
His eyes clouded with confusion, and he hurried over to the table. He reached out to take my hand, but I hid them under the table away from his reach. I didn’t want him to be able to touch me right now. His touch always clouded my judgement.
“Olivia, why would you think…” He trailed off as a look of comprehension crossed his face. “Ah, you must have seen all of the women’s clothing in the room.”
My spine straightened as my jaw clenched. “Yes, I did. And I saw the red lipstick and the lacy bra and panties.”
He wrinkled his nose in disgust. “Ew, please don’t mention my sister’s underwear in front of me. Especially before I eat. I might lose my appetite.”
“Your sister…?”
Alexander nodded. “Yes, she’s been staying here this past month.” He rolled his eyes. “I told her to use one of the guest bedrooms, but of course, she wanted to sleep in the biggest room. It’s just like her.”
My eyes widened in surprise. I had been aware that he had a sister, but I had no idea that they were even remotely close. Alexander never mentioned her.

Chapter 347
“What’s her-‘
Alexander’s shrill ringtone interrupted my question.
“Do you mind?” he asked and nodded at his phone.
“No, go ahead.” I answered, curious to see if he would take the call in front of me.

I was still a little suspicious. What if he was making up the story of his sister staying here to cover his bases?
“Good morning,” Alexander said when he answered the phone. A stab of jealousy made my chest ache because of the large grin that spread across his face.
He didn’t say much the rest of the phone call. He mostly just listened and nodded. I began to slowly eat my breakfast to pretend that I wasn’t listening, even though I totally was.
When Alexander hung up his phone, he gave me a questioning look.
“That was my sister,” he informed me. “Who did you think it was?”
I bit my lip as a warm blush spread across my cheeks. “I don’t know,” I lied.
But Alexander wasn’t going to let this go. He crossed his arms and stared me down. “Come on, Olivia. Who did you think it was?”
Anger zinged up my spine. I pushed my plate away. I’d lost my appetite. “I thought that it’s another woman that you’re sleeping with,” I admitted. “Because if that’s the case, whatever’s between us is
over.”
”
His jaw clenched. “I’m not sleeping with anyone else. All those lipsticks and clothes are my sisters.” His expression softened. “I don’t want to sleep with anyone else.” He took a step toward me. “Why would I when I have you?”
My heart burned with emotion, and tears pricked at the back of my eyes. I wanted to reach out to him, but I didn’t want to show any more weakness. Abruptly, I stood from the table and turned away from him. “I need to go,” I rushed out. “My parents will be waking up soon, and I should be there when they do.”
