Troy was holding himself back, trying to stay in control, but Teresa’s words only made the fire in his chest burn hotter.

He finally stopped fighting his urges and bent down, sealing her lips with his own.

The sharp mix of cigarettes and mint flooded her senses as he kissed her, pushing the taste deep into her mouth.

His kiss was forceful and overwhelming, like a wild storm crashing into her. She had no time to dodge, no chance to resist, not even a moment to let out a whimper.

Teresa tilted her face up, having no choice but to let him kiss her.

She clawed at his waist, digging her nails in so hard that they nearly broke the skin, but he didn’t budge at all.

When the pain got to him, Troy let out a low, intoxicating moan.

The sound made Teresa’s scalp tingle, and she let go, switching to hitting him instead.

Troy was even more agile. With just one hand, he caught both her wrists, easily controlling her. Then he guided her hands over his chest, letting her trace the curve of his muscles.

The air grew thinner and thinner, and Teresa felt like she could barely breathe.

Finally, Troy reluctantly let her go, his eyes lingering with mischief as he looked at her flushed face and asked with a teasing smile, So, how does it feel, baby?

Teresa’s face turned even redder. Troy, you’re shameless.

Troy gripped her hand tighter, refusing to let her pull away. He glanced down at her, noticing how her lips were flushed from his kiss, and couldn’t help but chuckle. So, how is my kiss?

Teresa looked up at him, her eyes blazing with anger. Let go of me first.

Seeing tears start to shimmer in her eyes, Troy realized he’d crossed the line and finally released her hand.

But the moment he let go, Teresa slapped him hard across the face. Troy, I’m not a hooker. You can’t just throw some money and gifts at me and expect me to play along. I have a husband and a daughter!

Troy’s face turned to the side from the slap, but he didn’t get mad. He just ran his tongue over where she’d hit him.

He lifted his head to look at her, his voice cool. Ms. Sullivan, you’re honestly the first woman I’ve met who doesn’t know when to play along

Teresa asked with a mocking smile, So? Are you disappointed?

Tears welled up in Teresa’s eyes, but she stubbornly refused to let herself break down as she looked at Troy.

Troy grabbed a tissue, holding it in his hand as he gently wiped away the tears at the corners of her eyes. I’m just disappointed for you, Ms. Sullivan

Teresa turned her face away. Troy, I appreciate you helping me twice, but we’re even now. You don’t owe me anything, and I don’t owe you anything.”

Troy wrapped his arms around Teresa, resting his chin on top of her head. He held her effortlessly, making it impossible for her to break free.

His voice, low and close to her ear, drifted down. No, you do owe me.

Teresa had no idea what he meant and didn’t care to guess. She tried to shove at his chest. Troy, I told you. I’m married

Even if she was getting a divorce, she and Charles were still married

Troy still didn’t let go With Charles lasting only three minutes, do you really think he can satisfy you?

Teresa froze, feeling a wave of panic. You

Troy laughed, his grin cocky and full of mischief. What? Did I hit a nerve?

It was just a guess, but Teresa’s reaction told him he’d hit the mark.

Teresa didn’t want to bring it up, so she kept quiet.

But her silence said it all.

Troy hooked a finger under her chin, his eyes glinting with a teasing smile. If he’s that useless, why not see what I can do?

Teresa didn’t bother answering. She broke free from his hold and reached for the car door.

As the door swung open, a man outside was busy taking photos with his camera.

Troy reacted fast, yanking Teresa back and shielding her in his arms.

They were separated by the center console between the driver’s and passenger’s seats.

When Troy pulled her close, Teresa ended up awkwardly stretched across the console.

Troy didn’t want her to get snapped by the paparazzi, so he threw his coat over her, covering her up so no one could see her.

Teresa’s face was buried in Troy’s chest, catching the subtle hint of tobacco and mint on him.

The mix of those two scents was strange, but weirdly enough, it actually smelled kind of nice.

Under the coat, his hand landed right on her butt. Teresa knew exactly what he was up to, but she didn’t dare say a word or even twitch.

If those cameras caught her, she’d be in a world of trouble.

She knew just how scary the internet could be.

It took nothing to wreck someone’s life.

The reporter outside clearly wasn’t leaving, and the camera still pointed right at Troy.

Troy turned his head toward the lens, not a trace of annoyance on his face. Instead, he flashed a grin and said, You’re so good at chasing the headlines, huh?

The reporter let out a sly chuckle. Mr. Hamilton, mind if I snap a pic of the lady with you?

Troy kept smiling, Maybe you should think about quitting your job instead.

The reporter froze for a second, not quite catching on. Then Troy’s smile vanished, his face turning cold. Looks like quitting isn’t an option for you. Let me give you a hand with that.

The reporter instantly got the hint and bolted, clutching his camera.

This job was tough. He had to chase the headlines, but he couldn’t afford to piss off the big shots.

Once he was sure the reporter was gone, Troy gave Teresa’s butt a playful squeeze. Enjoying yourself down there, huh?

Teresa flung the coat aside, greedily gulping in a couple of deep breaths of fresh air.

But before she could take another breath, Troy said, Let’s go. This place isn’t safe.

Teresa knew all too well how brutal the internet could be. She didn’t want to get dragged online, so she started the car and drove off

Once they were in a safe spot, Teresa pulled over and stopped the car

Troy just sat there, making no move to leave. Teresa turned to look at him. You.
