Chapter 36
My head snapped to the left to find Beatrice staring at the scene with wide eyes and parted lips.
God, no, no, no.

My stomach nosedived. The stupid high I’d been dragged me onto shattered completely as the world realigned with a nasty jolt.
I tried to squirm away, but then remembered I was still trapped in place by the monster. I looked down at him in panic, wondering why the hell he wasn’t letting me go.
To my disbelief, he spared Beatrice a glance so brief, it may have been a ghost of thought. Then, as if her presence added spice to his appetite, he buried his face right back into me.
What the hell?
I wanted the floor to open and eat me whole. Hell, even purgatory felt like a better place to be.
Beatrice looked like she’d just seen two ghosts committing a murder. Even I would be horrified if I walked in on my colleague having her leg draped over the shoulder of a guest while he ate her out in a freaking garage! I was supposed to be in there with her, attending to guests. Instead, I was trapped in this feverish nightmare with an unfeeling monster.
“Beatrice…” My voice cracked into nothing.
I pushed at his shoulders, but it was like trying to move a boulder with trembling fingers.
Beatrice’s eyes dropped to the floor, and when she saw my ruined briefs and shredded pants, her face turned to paper.
She shook her head and ran off.
That was the perfect moment the monster chose to be done with me.
He gently released the leg he’d forcefully taken from me and rose to his full height. Then, he cupped my cheeks so tenderly and crashed his lips against mine.
Damn it.
My hands flew to his chest, trying to push him off. But he only leaned further, biting my lower lip like it was a punishment I’d earned.
I tasted myself in his mouth. And as if that wasn’t enough, he let more of it drip onto my tongue, forcing me to swallow the evidence of my own ruin.
“There’s joy in sharing, don’t you think?” He rested forehead against mine, his fingers holding my lower lip captive.
My heart pounded like a drum. It took me more effort to pull my thoughts together.
“She’ll tell everyone at the office.” Fresh tears pooled in my eyes.
But his answer came with a cold smile. “Much better.”
Of course, he’d want that. It’d be ‘much better‘ if Grayson got to hear of it too.
A tear slid down, retracing an old path. The monster released my lip, his finger catching the drop just before it kissed my
jaw.

Gently, he wiped it off, then took his hand to my hair, stroking it.
I couldn’t understand how he could switch from being brutal to being this… tender man. He was just like the devil- sometimes, wanting to get his victims through deception.
“Don’t get the police or anyone else involved in our relationship, Rali.” His voice was velvet. “If you do, I’ll have to punish you. And it’ll be bad.” His lips brushed my earlobe. “Really bad.”
He bit my earlobe, making it sting a little. I shivered from the effect.
He stepped away from me, his eyes still on me like a final imprint.
And then, he was gone, leaving me alone in the darkness.

RALI
“Did you think of me when you showered, Rali?” His voice filtered through the crevices of my mind, just before his hand dared to slide between my thighs.

“Did you imagine me with you? Holding you like this? Fucking that tight, greedy pussy that’s always soaking wet for me??” I gasped when he eased a finger into me, coiling and touching a good spot inside of me.
He shouldn’t be doing this. I shouldn’t be letting him do this. But it felt so good.
“Do you want me to fuck you?” He whispered in my ear. His finger slid out and found my sensitive clit. “Do you want to see what your blood would look like wrapped around my cock? To hear yourself scream when you come for me?”
His finger pushed back in, forcing me to suck in and like I was drowning.
Fuck, I was going to come for him again!
A shrill ringing interrupted us–thank God.
I jerked and looked around to see what the perfect interruption was.
An alarm clock.
My alarm clock.
My bed.
I blinked. Blinked again.
I was in my bed. Alone. The fingers touching me were….
I shrieked and sat up, my eyes widening in sheer horror. Oh, God, no, no, no. It can’t bel
I looked between my legs where my arousal stained my thighs. I’d been… touching myself!? In my sleep!
My skin crawled in reverse. I’d been dreaming of him?
My heart might as well have stopped working. What in Zeus was wrong with me? How was I touching myself to memories of the monster?

What was happening to me?

One hour and thirty–two minutes later. I stood in front of my desk, absentmindedly playing with the strap of my purple laptop bag while constantly staring at the door where Grayson was supposed to walk out from.
Since he was around, my colleagues around me were busy with work. So, there was less chatter.
It didn’t take long before the witch walked Oh, perfect.
I looked away, but of course, she stopped right in front of me. I didn’t need to look at her to feel the heat of her scowl.
She’s been looking for the perfect opportunity to get me alone. I guess she must be singing songs of victory in her head.
“You had to do it, didn’t you? You just had to claw your way in and take what’s mine.” Her voice dripped with venom.
“Evie, please. You didn’t get kicked out or something. We’re both working on her dresses.” I kept my voice level even though my eye roll was begging to come out and play.
“It was supposed to be me alone! You’re just a manipulative bitch who always likes to take what belongs to others.”
She said the words like she’d been bottling this for ages. This wasn’t workplace envy. This was personal.
“Do I know you from somewhere? Because I swear to God, I’d have remembered meeting someone this bitter. People like you usually come with warning labels, Evie.”
I couldn’t tell for sure if she’d meant to say something else, but the door to Grayson’s office opened, revealing the CEO.
Evie’s lips pressed into a hard line as she stepped back. “We’re not done.”
She left, just before Grayson reached us. His eyes flicked from her retreating figure to me.
“You ready?” He focused on me.
“Yes, sir.”
We left the office, got into the backseat of his car and set out to see Vlyrissa Thorne.
After her sudden interest the previous night, she’d asked to meet at her place to discuss design details. While I could have easily taken a cab, my ‘kind‘ boss offered to drop me off before proceeding to wherever he had to go.
“The guy from last night,” Grayson started, breaking the brooding silence between us. “Is he your boyfriend?”
