Chapter 59
RALI
I didn’t think it was humanly possible to feel dumber. But here I was, topping my own personal record of idiocy.
He was wrong. So damn wrong.
there’s something about me that’s burrowed into you.>>

What the hell was that nonsense? The asshole was purely delusional to think I’d ever want to spend time with him. The only reason I hadn’t ratted him out to the cops was because I didn’t want my friends and family getting hurt by his people out there. I couldn’t risk it.
I wasn’t just making myself feel better. I’d rather jump off a cliff than have anything for that monster.
I avoided the suite as much as I could that evening, keeping myself busy in the lounge. But when I became pretty dizzy and couldn’t withstand it anymore, I went in, hoping the monster wouldn’t be in or would probably be asleep.
Fortunately, he wasn’t in when I entered. I didn’t care where the devil had gone or why he’d suddenly decided to give me space. I just wished he’d vanish off the face of the earth and make it permanent.
I found some pills on the table. Postpill.
I gave them a long stare, feeling furious that Void was really having his way with me. A month ago, I would have laughed in anyone’s face if they’d told me I’d be swallowing pills to erase the consequences of a man forcing himself on me.
But I did.
I drank them, then retired to bed.

I woke up to the devil himself lying next to me–his head propped on one elbow, his eyes boring into mine like he’d been watching me breathe all night.
I bolted upright, scrambling away from him.
“Did you sleep well, Green?” He calmly asked, seeming unfazed by the fact that I was moving away.
How long has he been here? Did we actually share the bed? How didn’t I notice when he climbed into the bed?
You sleep like a corpse, Rali.
I looked down at myself, taking in the fact that I was still properly dressed. Clearly, he didn’t touch me.
He chuckled. “Green, believe me, if I’d fucked you during the night, you wouldn’t need to wonder.”
I shot him a glare then stormed off the bed. I couldn’t afford to speak to him. I was too mad.
‘Why? Because he told you a truth you didn’t want to hear?‘
No! It was rather a lie he told his delusional self to feel better.
I washed the night off my skin then braced myself for the day ahead.

Chapter 59
Breakfast was next.
Thirty minutes later, we were heading downstairs. And by “we,” I mean Void had practically chained his hand to mine, ignoring every single one of my protests to let go.

We joined the breakfast table, every face from last night present and accounted for. Conversations went smoothly as we all ate in peace. Although, for some reason, my appetite hit the snooze button.
After breakfast, I slipped into a swimsuit and joined the women for a swim. Lillian practically lit up like a sunrise when she saw me approaching.
We swam, laughed like girls with no grief, and toasted to freedom in the wide, sparkling fun pool. For the first time since we boarded this godforsaken yacht, I tasted something that almost felt like joy.
Yvette was there too, but we didn’t exchange so much as a syllable. As a matter of fact, we kept a good distance from each other.
Yesterday, I was morbidly curious. Today, I was just plain disgusted. Igor clearly loved her. Anyone with working eyes could see that. But she still dared to cheat on him. And the irony? She was older than Void. Maybe not by a decade, but still, was dignity a foreign concept to her?
She wasn’t friendly with me and I thanked the gods for that small mercy. I had no desire to pretend.
I loved the pool so much and didn’t want to leave, but eventually, the swim had to come to an end.
“We could meet up for drinks later this evening,” Lillian suggested, to which the women giddily agreed.
“Nine p.m, then. You in, Rali?”
Well, swimming had been fun. “Sure.”
“Oooh! I’m really loving this women party!” someone happily clapped.
I couldn’t hold back my smile as I walked over to the bar just next to the pool.
“Smoky Barrel Bash, please.” I said with a nod to the bartender as I slid onto the stool. The young man gave a quick nod and turned to prepare the drink.
While he worked, worry crept in. Veronica and Ruby must be worried sick about me. And Steven… I really hope he hadn’t given up on me yet and Elizabeth Cheng was still where he found her.
God, I was so curious to meet her. When was the monster going to let me go?
Suddenly, I felt a chill behind me. It was the kind I got when he was close.
I looked around and there he was, leaning on the yacht’s upper balcony, watching me.
He looked like the pretentious Void–cool, handsome. He smiled, and even from this distance, his cold grey eyes burned like silver wildfire.
I glared hard at him before looking away, my chest tightening like a rope being pulled too tight.
The bartender returned with my cocktail. I noticed his eyes linger on my chest just before he turned away.
I glanced down at myself. Okay, the girls were on full display in this swim–throng, but I had a towel around my waist, at least. Still, maybe I should hurry up and get changed already.

I took a drag from the tasty cocktail.
Look up, Rali. We both know you want to.»

I tightened my grip around the glass as I took another drag, hating the stupid voice in my head. But my head lifted anyway.
He was gone.
Oh, thank goodness.
I turned back to my cocktail.
“Hey.”
It wasn’t his voice.
I tilted my head to see someone approaching. His name was Kurtis. He was part of those that had breakfast and dinner with
He stopped beside me with a sunny smile. “How’re you doing, Rali?”
I hesitated for a beat before responding. “I’m fine.”
He flagged down the bartender, ordering with a nod before returning his attention to me.
“Enjoyed the pool?” Unlike the bartender, his eyes didn’t travel to my cleavage or legs. For that, I nearly applauded him.
“Yeah.”
“How did Machai get lucky, though? You’re one pretty lady.”
I blinked, feeling my stomach twist like a wet rag. I shot a glance up at the balcony. There was still no sign of him, but I knew better than to think he was gone
I really needed this Kurtis guy to leave. He was cool and all, but I didn’t want him near me, not when I had a psychopath shadowing me.
The bartender arrived with his drink. At least, now he could leave.
Shockingly, he slipped a small folded note across the counter. “I’d like a moment, Rali.”
My lips parted, stunned. Before I could say a word, he tipped his head and walked away.
What was he doing?
I looked around, half–expecting Void to be standing right behind me. But there was still no sign of him.
Quickly, I unwrapped the note:
“Please, do come to my cabin: PO3. Two p.m. Hope I get to see you.”
I shook my head. If only he knew how risky it was just giving this note to me.
Besides, was he insane? He wanted me to come to his cabin when he knew I was here with someone? Some men really were unbelievable.

I stuffed the note into my towel, intending to dump it the moment I was out of sight.
I finished the last of my cocktail, not bothering to pay since all bills belonged to Void. Just as I began to rise from the stool, a ripple of electricity ran through me.
I turned, and there he was, walking towards me.
My heart quickened like it always did around him. I remembered the note in my towel and my legs wobbled slightly.
Stop panicking, Rali. He didn’t see it. He won’t know.
But when he stood before me, I noticed he looked pissed.
My brows furrowed. I wanted to take a step back, but fortunately, the stool behind me prevented that. I didn’t want to cower in front of him.
Whatever his problem was, the bartender and three other people were nearby. Surely, he wouldn’t do anything reckless in front of them.
“The note.”
Two words, powerful enough to make me stop breathing for five seconds.
Wait, what?
I didn’t need to fake the confused look on my face because I was truly perplexed. He couldn’t be referring to Kurtis‘ note could he?
“Don’t make me dig my hand into your towel to get it out, Rali. You won’t like it then.”
My pulse spiked so high I could hear it drumming between my ears. How in God’s name did he know!? I could swear he hadn’t been here!
“I–I don’t know what you’re-” My words were cut short when he did like he said–dipped his hand into my towel.
I gasped, looking around. The people watched in awe while he snatched the note out.
I swallowed hard as his eyes danced over the note.
