You Looked Down on Me Once, Now You Look Up. novel Chapter 234

Patricia swirled her wine, leaning her head on one hand as she let out a long sigh. “Yeah, I guess I’m a bit in my feelings tonight.”

“Who knows, maybe tomorrow you’ll feel totally fine. For now, drink up and crash at my place,” Chelsea said, topping off Patricia’s glass.

“Perfect, I’ve got a mountain of gossip to dump on you.” Ever since Chelsea started her new job, her gossip had gone from good to legendary.

Every new story left Patricia blinking in disbelief.

They ended up talking and eating until eight thirty.

Meanwhile, Patricia’s phone kept buzzing in her bag, screen lighting up over and over. She ignored it.

Back at Cloud Peak, Jackson stormed out of the main house, his face dark as a thundercloud.

He waited until he was out of earshot before grumbling, “He’s seriously got issues.”

“It’s just dinner, man. Does he have to call, like, fifteen times? Miss Patricia isn’t a flight risk,” Aiden said, rolling his eyes.

Jackson shot him a look. “Didn’t I say she was out with Chelsea? Does she have to report in herself? What, is he the emperor or something?”

Jackson always thought Oliver acted way too high and mighty.

He could feel the pressure Oliver put on Patricia—it was obvious she was always extra careful around him.

Jackson honestly couldn’t figure out what was going on with those two.

But his loyalty was simple: as long as Miss Patricia was happy, he was fine. If she wasn’t, then Oliver would definitely hear about it.

Nobody mattered more than Miss Patricia.

By nine thirty, Patricia and Chelsea got back to the apartment. Patricia had left her car at the mall since she’d been drinking.

Once inside, she finally checked her phone—over a dozen missed calls.

While Chelsea went to shower, Patricia called back.

Oliver picked up almost instantly, his voice tight and unhappy. “Where are you?”
