You Looked Down on Me Once, Now You Look Up. novel Chapter 306

A million thoughts crashed through Tina’s mind, one after another, refusing to quiet down.

Emerson glanced over, his brow creased with worry. “What are you stressing about now?”

“It’s Howard’s call,” he said, handing her his phone so she could see for herself.

“I’ll handle anything risky. If both of us get dragged into this and something happens, then what?” he added quietly.

Only after hearing him out did Tina finally feel herself relax, just a little.

She pulled open the office door.

As the heavy wooden door clicked shut behind her, Patricia’s words came rushing back.

A man with money and a pulse will always have plenty of eyes on him.

Tina hesitated, her hand lifting as if to turn back. For a second, she almost reached for the door again.

But she knew Emerson too well by now.

After a pause, she let her hand fall and walked straight toward the elevator.

Downstairs, Patricia was busy packing up her things.

She slipped a black pen into its box and was about to open a drawer when Aurora hurried in, a little out of breath. “Ms. Klotz is here.”

Patricia’s eyes lowered, her face unreadable. “There’s a product launch today, right?”

Aurora nodded. “Yes.”

“Any media coverage?”

“A lot,” Aurora replied.

Patricia didn’t skip a beat. “What time does it end?”

Aurora checked her watch. “Seventeen minutes.”

Patricia’s response was quick. “Call the police. Say there’s a fight breaking out.”
