You Looked Down on Me Once, Now You Look Up. novel Chapter 324

“She seems to be Patricia’s personal assistant. We saw her a few times when we were following Patricia,” someone said.

Grandma, always careful, double-checked, “Just her assistant?”

“Pretty sure,” came the reply.

“We didn’t find anything unusual about her background.”

“What’s her name?” Grandma asked.

In Riverdale, people with a certain last name rarely stayed anonymous for long. Grandma usually knew everything about anyone worth knowing—but apparently, not this time.

The person next to her shook their head, looking a little helpless.

Grandma closed her eyes for a second, handed back the tablet, and said, “Keep an eye on her.”

Upstairs in the ballroom, the automatic doors kept out the blast of cold air from the first floor.

Groups of guests stood around chatting. “I heard the whole event is being thrown by the Newton family.”

“They’re really bold, huh? Kelly’s in jail, and they’re still finding time for this?”

“She’s already locked up—what else are they supposed to do? Life goes on for everyone else.”

“Trust me, give it a few days and Howard will have someone new on his arm.”

“Right? I’ve been following all the gossip. Patricia’s something else. The Newton family is still standing, and yet Howard’s been pushed this far—all because of her. That’s impressive, isn’t it?”

“I wonder how Kelly feels now. She used to call him a cripple, tried to drag his name through the mud. But now? He’s doing just fine, and she’s the one getting her face rubbed in the dirt.”

That got a round of laughter. Someone added, “Moral of the story—don’t get too full of yourself.”

“Kelly’s situation really taught me what it means when everyone turns on you the second you fall.”

“No one’s a saint, anyway.”

To them, the kids Kelly supposedly bullied were just faces in the crowd.
