Meanwhile, Skye and Leland squeezed up to the machine to check out the brainwave readings.

To their shock, they discovered something unbelievable.

Skye blurted out, “Is this machine busted? Why are the waveforms exactly the same?

“The curves are perfectly aligned. Did someone just copy and paste them?”

The technician, looking a bit panicked, quickly replied, “Hey, you can’t just make wild accusations.

“These machines get checked every single day–there’s no way they’re broken.”

“If the machine isn’t broken, is Narissa really able to control her emotions and physical responses down to the tiniest detail? That’s unreal,” Leland muttered, still in disbelief.

Leland’s words finally caught the attention of the instructor and the others.

The instructor and Alina immediately rushed over to the machine, examining it closely.

“This machine must be broken! Why are you still running tests on a busted machine? Hurry up and get a new one,” Alina demanded.

“Exactly, there’s no way this thing isn’t broken,” the instructor added.

They kept insisting on changing the machine, so the technician, out of options, had someone else take the test. But everything turned out perfectly normal.

All the readings matched exactly what they’d expect from a normal person.

“See? Everyone can see the machine’s working just fine,” the technician said.

“Then she must be cheating, or maybe you guys didn’t even hook up the wires right,” Alina shot back.

The technician, clearly annoyed by Alina’s suspicion, snapped, “Alright, if you think we’re so incompetent, why don’t you go hook her up yourself?”

“Fine, I will!” Alina replied.

Alina was determined to prove Narissa was faking it, so when she connected the wires, she checked her all over, just to make sure there was no trickery.

Narissa just stood there, not resisting at all.

Once Alina was sure there was nothing off about Narissa, she finally left the room and let the test go on.

“Relax, Instructor. I hooked up the wires myself and checked her from head to toe–there’s nothing on her that could mess with the results,” Alina said confidently.
