The drive to Fenra was quiet, but my nerves were anything but. I must have checked my phone at least a dozen times, staring at Marcel’s name lighting up my screen.

Marcel: Where are you? Why didn’t you come home? Princess is going livid in school, but no one’s pacifying her. Joshua is looking for you, too. I think they already broke up.

Marcel: Did something happen??

Marcel: Luna??

I chewed on my lip before finally replying with the most neutral thing I could think of.

Me: I’ll explain soon. Promise.

It wasn’t a lie, technically. I just didn’t know how to explain that I was in a car with a brooding Alpha who may or may not have watched me grind on him in my sleep last night. The thought alone made my face burn.

I glanced at Abel from the corner of my eye. He was focused on the road. He looked much calmer than I was, appearing to have already forgotten the whole thing from last night.

I fiddled with my seatbelt and cleared my throat, hoping to distract myself. “Um, you’re sure this is okay? Me… going with you?”

He didn’t look at me. “I already talked to the school.”

“Oh.”

“I know the owner.”

My eyebrows raised. “You know the owner?”

He nodded slightly. “Elias‘ family.”

Elias? I’ve never heard of him before. However, I knew that the school was owned by the “Rue” family. Although they never showed their faces to the public before.

“He said you can take your classes online. You’ll only need to go back for the finals.”

“Wait, really?”

He didn’t say anything else, but his jaw twitched slightly, like he was trying not to smile.

Then Abel spoke again. “You don’t have to worry about your house or the diner.”

My head snapped toward him. “What do you mean?”

“I’ll have a guy look into it.”

“A guy?”

He shrugged, eyes still on the road. “Someone who owes me a few favors.”

I slumped back into the seat. “Wow. You’re more well–connected than I thought.”

He smirked faintly. “You thought I was some random Alpha with no resources?”

I hesitated. “Maybe just a little.”

He chuckled under his breath, and I couldn’t help but stare. When he laughed, it was rare, but it did something strange to my stomach. However, the warmth didn’t last long.

Because every few minutes, my mind would drift back to last night.

He hadn’t brought it up once, and maybe that was worse. My face heated all over again. He must think I was some kind of pervert.

I turned toward the window, watching the scenery shift. Fenra was nothing like I remembered. The first time I’d been here was during the auction. But now… morning sunlight poured over rolling hills and tall pine trees. The roads were lined with flower carts and bakeries that looked better than the houses in Ylarc. For a second, it almost didn’t feel real.

“It’s beautiful,” I murmured.

After a few minutes, he finally slowed the car and pulled into a driveway.

“We’re here,” he said.

My heart gave a nervous jump. We were back in his place. Although it was dark when I first went here, I don’t think I would ever forget its exterior. It was the day I lost my virginity after

all.

I was about to go out, but I hesitated for a moment, suddenly aware of how close we were sitting. He leaned slightly forward, and my heart decided to betray me by speeding up.

“Nothing,” I said, turning to the side. Meanwhile, I heard him let out a deep breath. He left the car while I wallowed inside for a second.

Why was it always so embarrassing with him? At this rate, I was going to run out of dignity before we even got inside his house.
