Boss, Your Ex-Wife is Unreachable Now! novel Chapter 170

The movie theater was on the sixth floor of the mall, while the barbecue restaurant was just one level below in the dining area on the fifth. Willow and Juliette took the elevator down a floor and stepped out into a space that was refreshingly uncrowded for this time of day—just half past four. They were seated immediately, without the usual wait.

They ordered a split hot pot—half spicy, half mild—and headed to the sauce bar to mix their own dipping sauces. Each grabbed a small dish and began selecting their favorites.

"Willow, it's been a while," a slightly mocking male voice called out from behind.

She paused, the voice sounding annoyingly familiar. Glancing over her shoulder, her suspicions were confirmed—it was Connor.

Connor moved in the same social circles as Beasley. A rich kid with too much time on his hands, Willow remembered seeing him a few times at Beasley's birthday parties back in high school. She had no interest in talking and finished mixing her sauce quickly, intending to walk away.

But Connor blocked her path—if she stepped left, he did too. She tried right, same result.

Juliette noticed and immediately stepped between them, frowning. "What's your problem?" she demanded.

Connor's gaze shifted to Juliette, and he looked her up and down with a cocky smirk. "Is this your friend, Willow?"

Up close, both girls were even more striking. Connor's interest was obvious, and he couldn't help but raise his brows in appreciation. Earlier, he'd snapped a photo of Willow and Ian chatting outside the movie theater to send to Beasley—he'd been there with his own girlfriend for a rom-com that ended a few minutes before Willow's horror movie. While waiting for his girlfriend to use the restroom, he'd spotted Willow coming out of the theater with Ian and seized the chance to play the informant.

After all, just days earlier, he'd seen that clip circulating online: Beasley and Willow hugging in the hospital.

As he pondered this, his girlfriend Daisy appeared by his side.

Seeing his empty hands, Daisy didn't question or complain. Instead, she smiled sweetly and offered, "Want me to help you with the sauces, Connor? What do you want?"

Connor pulled his gaze away from the distant booth and turned to Daisy with a soft, affectionate smile. "Anything you make, I'll love."

Daisy blushed, her smile turning shy and delighted.
