By noon the next day, Willow and Juliette arrived at the French restaurant in Eastvale right on time, only to find that Lionel was already waiting for them in one of the private dining rooms.
"Thanks for treating me to such a fancy meal, Miss Sheffield," Lionel said with a grin as soon as they walked in, his seat at the round table perfectly positioned to greet them.
Willow smiled back, not missing a beat. "Well, I should be the one thanking you, Mr. Scott, for stepping up for me last night."
Juliette laughed, glancing between them. "Come on, you two. You've known each other for ages—when did you start getting so formal?"
The private room they'd reserved was surprisingly spacious, with a round table big enough to seat at least a dozen people. With just the three of them there, sitting apart would have made the place feel even emptier, so Lionel suggested they sit together for a cozier atmosphere.
Juliette, knowing perfectly well that Lionel thrived on company, had no objections. She and Willow took their seats next to Lionel—Juliette in the middle, Willow beside her.
"Order whatever you like, Mr. Scott," Willow said, passing Lionel the menu with a friendly but generous air.
"Don't mind if I do." Lionel took the menu without protest and browsed through it carefully. In just a few moments, he'd picked out five dishes and a soup, then handed the menu back to the server.
Willow paid close attention to his choices, and she quickly realized that every single dish was something Juliette liked.
As soon as the waiter left, Juliette turned to Lionel, unable to resist. "Lionel, remember how I told you to learn from the good qualities of the person you're in love with? I take it back. Forget I ever said that."
"Why?" Lionel blinked those striking, mischievous eyes at her, playing up his innocent routine.
Juliette shot back, "Didn't you meet him last night? Is there anything about him actually worth learning?"
She genuinely worried that Lionel might start copying York's ways just to win over his crush.
Lionel's smile lingered as he replied, without the slightest hesitation, "Not a thing."
Juliette let out a sigh of relief. "Exactly. See?"
"Mr. Scott," Willow said suddenly.
Lionel turned to her, the smile still lingering on his lips. "What's up?"
Willow looked at him seriously. "If Lettie ever started dating someone, would you give her any relationship advice?"
Her question caught both Lionel and Juliette off guard; they just stared at her, momentarily stunned.
Willow continued, "You always go to Lettie for advice about your love life. If the tables were turned, wouldn't you help her out too?"
Lionel's smile froze, as if someone had hit the pause button.
"You told her about that too?" he finally asked, breaking the silence—and the question was clearly directed at Juliette.
